Singer and reformed crack addict Natalie Cole has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C.
The virus, found during a routine examination, is likely the result of her drug use many decades ago, her publicist says in a release.
The singer is said to be having a “terrific” response to an anti-viral medication, says her doctor, Graham Woolf, of U.C.L.A./Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She has, however, suffered side effects, including “fatigue, muscle aches and dehydration but she is recovering from these.”
Says Natalie: “I am embraced by the love and support of my family and friends; I am committed to my belief in myself and in my abiding faith to meet this challenge with a heartfelt optimism and determination. This is how I intend to deal with this current challenge in my life.”
Despite her ailment, she still plans to release her new CD, Still Unforgettable, on September 9.

well alteast she is repsonding to the drugs well, and i didnt know that she said that about amy winehouse, people need to realize no one WANTS to be a crack addict, and that everyone can be there if they make bad choices in life too, thats why no one should be quick to judge.
On the whole amy winehouse thing, if a doctor tells you to your face at such a young age IF YOU DONT STOP SMOKING crack and cigarretes you will get Emphysema then you should listen…. stop throwing your life and talent away!!! you are too young to die at this age,

Natalie was heroin addict not a crack addict . There was a book and movie about her drug addiction. Her comment about Amy was she should have focused on her recovery in rehab rather than performing on the Grammy’s.

hotbitch.. i feel she was right in saying that ..former is right that gives her all the more right to say it… she has been there and done thae.. damn what the fu*k… folks cant even state their opinions .. please she didnt say anything wrong.. and when natalie was on drugs she was not running around on stage singing and getting caught smokin crack on camers… so she does have the right to comment … been there done that damn!!!!!!
