It was a sea of red, white and blue that washed over New York City’s Fifth Avenue today as a soundtrack of whistles, reggaeton and screams blasted “Viva Puerto Rico.”
There were marching bands, beauty queens and uniformed city workers dancing to salsa blaring from scores of floats.
Bronx-born Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony, last year’s marshal, waved to adoring fans - though in separate floats.
“I didn’t know they were going to come,” said the stunning songstress. “They’re my people.”
Although it was impossible to estimate the crowd, hundreds of thousands have attended in recent years.

It’s so sad, but all I can think of with the P.R. Parade in NYC is when that gang of drunk guys were groing women, beating men and ripping off women’s clothes…………back in 2000

In my case being Latin in NYC I find most PuertoRicans too loud…but I guess that I part of a political statment of some minorites to face differences as a matter of demanding high tolerance (childish). I hide that day or go shopping far away.

All these boring appearances are all she seems to do lately. I think this is definately the ending of her career. The spanish album was a big mistake for her. But I think she’s had her time now and should just settle down with her husband. I can’t really see her making number 1s anymore, but I could be wrong. She looks pretty good here though! I like her hair like that.
Stephi…I tend to agree. JLO has gotten booed on more than one occasion for singing & acting. Her last film & album bombed. Her career appears to be winding down. Scientology doesn’t seem to help.
