Hollywood outlaw Paris Hilton spent her first night in the County jail medical ward sullen and withdrawn.According to TMZ, Paris has been crying a lot, praying and extremely withdrawn in the medical ward at Twin Towers, an L.A. County jail facility.
Sources have described her condition today as “fragile” and “despondent.” One source called her “a train wreck” while another said she is “sullen and withdrawn.”
Detoxing perhaps?
Paris was visited by her Psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy and had a two hour session with him.
She has been put in a room by herself with a glass door. For her protection, a sergeant guards the door at all times.
Meanwhile, despite earlier reports, Paris says she will not appeal her 45-day jail sentence. Here’s the statement:
Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff’s concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world.”
Translation: Her lawyer told her she had no grounds for appeal, so she might as well spin it as though she is being tough and facing her sentence. She needs the PR after yesterday’s sobfest.
And, she’ll now spend her time doped up on happy pills in the soft beds of the medical ward, so it won’t be so bad.
And I loved the patriotism-inducing Iraq comment. She should run for office! (Well, at least the lawyer who wrote this should!)

I do have a question about all this Hilton business. If Nicole Ritchie ends up going into the slam, could we end up with parparazzi photos of Hilton and Ritchie going over the wall?
I hate Paris, but I didn’t know that MOST people do. I remember a lot of people felt bad for Marth Stewart, Lil’ Kim, and Winona Ryder (I know she didn’t go to jail, but a lot of people felt bad for her during her trial). I seriously thought she had more fans than she does.
She wants people to focus on Iraq, but she didn’t even REGISTER TO VOTE!

I have NO SYMPATHY for ANY drunk drivers. I’d have her in prison for doing it THREE TIMES! No one has the right to endanger the lives of others on the road like that.

I think she is starting finally to come to the realization that everybody fuckin hates her. That may be part of the reason they are not appealing. (I say they because Paris makes no decisions for herself.) I halfway wish she would have stayed out of jail because I believe that would have truly been the nail in her coffin as far as the public is concerned. I just hope and pray that she will not become relevant or more famous after this stupid shit is finally over.
Her lawyers have really screwed up in this whole case!! My dad’s a barrister and he was saying to me that everyone in the profession is saying that it has been handled really badly and they actually look stupider than Paris does in the whole incident.
At least now she is settled into one place and some sort of sentence appears to be decided. It was so strange that I’m wondering if her medical condition could have been withdrawl? She needs to toughen up and serve out the rest of her sentence with no more controversy.
So she should stay there for gods sake. I would be a bit insulted if i were one of the physicians at the jail- like she didn’t think they were good enough to treat her herpes!

I think the person that comes off looking the worst in all this is actually the idiotic sheriff catering to her every whim. they had to re-program her ankle monitor cos her house was so big and he was the one that suggested she could ‘phone in’ her appearance in court! If he gets re-elected (is that how it works over there?) there is something very wrong. someone that can be bought so easily should not be in a position like that.
