After repeated false stories, we can confirm that Angelina Jolie did in fact give birth to twins – a boy named Knox Leon and a girl named Vivienne Marcheline.
Angie, daddy Brad Pitt and the babies “are doing marvelously well,” her doctor told the AP. “Everything is going well.”
The new mom of twins gave birth via a Cesarian section at the Lenval Hospital on the French Riviera on Saturday night.
While Knox weighed 5.03 pounds, little Vivienne came in at 5 pounds.
Congratulations to the happy and ever-growing family. Wishing you some much-needed privacy!!

the names are unsuall, but not for them i guess.. Knox as in Johnny KNoxville??? and vivienne? its a very old fashioned name but marcheline is pretty and named after her mother, so i understnad that name.

Anna, although it’s not the exact, my favorite is “Vivanne” Juliette Binoche’s character’s name in Chocolat. I love how it’s pronounced, and I think it’s thisclose in sound but with a slight more emphasis on the 1st e in Vivienne.
Knox Overstreet (Josh Charles) was my fav character in “Dead Poet’s Society”, so I like that name….I love Vivienne too…….glad they didn’t name them anything stupid.

A low birth weight is typial for twins, and they are often premature too.

Laurie, I don’t think the Batman movie will be hurt in the least. People are as interested in it if not more. I love the JP’s but I also loved Heath, and I’m seriously excited about the movie. It will not be affected by JP’s babies being born.
Oh oh soon we will be seeing photos of a bikini clad Jennifer Anniston. This always happens after a big media blitz about Brad and Ang….Jen always tries to one up them but even with her killer bikini bod she just can’t cut it. The jolie-pitts are the couple of the moment. How long they will last is a big question mark. We will see. Time will tell……..

Congratulations to Brad and Ange! How wonderful for them to be able to add two more beautiful children to their family. I’m very excited that they had a boy and a girl (mini-me Brad? Yes please!) and I think the names are awesome. Vivienne Marcheline is beautiful and obviously sentimental to Ange, and Knox Leon is one of the coolest boys names I’ve heard in a while. Can’t wait to see pictures, but I hope the paps don’t try and get them through the windows and over the fences.

Prematurity has to do with when a baby is born (i.e., before 37 weeks). The low birth weights are secondary to the early birth. You can have full-term babies that below five pounds (not typical, but it happens).

The entertainment press is already fighting with each other over who got the story right. Bauer’s In Touch, which has devoted what seems like every other cover to another Brangelina headline, is claiming the exclusive, being the first to report the news accurately ahead of any other news outlet. That In Touch’s website first reported Jolie gave birth to “twin girls,†then recanted that part of the story, might be of material interest to on-lookers. The magazine, however, will point out that six months ago it reported Jolie was pregnant with both a boy and a girl. (Previously, Star and OK! had reported Jolie was carrying two girls.)
After In Touch posted its report online, Us Weekly quickly “me too’d†with a “confirmation†that Jolie had given birth with its own website article. Then Extra, which had also posted online with the news, recanted its report, leading Us to also pull its story.
It wasn’t long before People posted the “exclusive†news on its website, though its source was Jolie’s doc, Michael Sussmann, who released a statement to the press at large, not just People. So its “exclusive†news wasn’t so much exclusive as it was simply stamped that way.
But once People pushed the story, the other hangers on followed suit; Us and Extra had their stories back online thereafter.
They will probably have fish lips like their sluttly mom.
