A big kudos to James Franco!
The studly actor earned his college degree in creative writing from UCLA last month at age 30. But it ain’t over yet — he’ll move to New York to attend grad school at NYU in September!
What the sudden interest in academia? His parents were apparently disappointed when he dropped out of college in his teens to star in Freaks and Geeks. But he has been consistently been hitting the books since then - along with dozens of film and TV projects.
Says James: “I am going back to school because I love being around people who are interested in what I’m interested in. That is the best way to learn.”
Smart and hot. We approve!

He was such the it guy for a while but I guess thats why he hasnt been around lately. Very admirable of him to get his degree.
Good for him. It takes a very dedicated person to complete one degree, and being an actor and not really needing a one to be successful in his chosen profession, I find it even more outstanding that he’s pursuing his grad degree as well! He couldn’t have chosen two finer universities. Smart, talented and driven by something other than the shallow world that surrounds him - how refreshing!!!
