Despite earlier hesitation, Jamie-Lynn Spears tells Ok! magazine “it all fell into place” on June 19 when she gave birth to baby Maddie Briann Aldridge. “I was right on schedule. I had a perfect pregnancy and a perfect delivery. I was very blessed.”
Surrounded by family, including big sis Britney, Jamie-Lynn says that baby daddy Casey Aldridge was the one person she allowed in for the delivery. “There was no C-section. There were no emergencies. She was perfectly healthy. I had a normal, natural birth.”
Jamie-Lynn on picking the name: “Maddie is a name that Casey thought of, and I really liked it. Briann was because, a week and a half before she was born, one of Casey’s cousins, who he was really close with, passed. He was in a car accident. His name was Brian. She’s also named after my older brother, Bryan Spears. We just added another “N†to it and made her Maddie Briann.”Jamie-Lynn on whether she is getting advice and help from mom Lynne: “Mama has been here a bunch. She wants to see the baby all the time. She told me: ‘The doctors are always going to be real strict and tell you don’t do this and don’t do that. Just follow your instincts. You’re the mother and you know what your baby needs.’ That’s what I’ve done, and it seems to have worked.”

Maddie Briann SPEARS is the baby’s name. When a mother is NOT married to the father of her child, that child is a bastard and cannot take the name of the father. She can call the baby whatever she wants, but it’s still a bastard.

Sushi you’re completely and totally incorrect. The child CAN take the father’s last name, and in many states, when a custody order is put into effect, the mother is ordered to give the child the father’s last name.

What a little sweetheart girl!! She’s very cute indeed and despite some of the comments I really like her name. Looks like there is a lot of meaning in it for them. Jamie looks really pretty here, but I agree that her hair does look strangely gray. Maybe just the lighting or something or maybe they are trying to make her look older hahah, but not THAT old! I find it strange that Casey isn’t on the cover as well, it’s his baby too!
