He’s known for his tough guy monologues, but Al Pacino turned into a big softie when he tried to deliver the perfect speech at the 35th AFI Life Achievement Award tribute to Al Pacino.
The ‘Scarface’ legend was lost for words recently when he accepted a lifetime achievement award. In what was a clearly an emotional moment for the actor, he took to the Hollywood stage to accept the trophy from fellow grade A thespian, Sean Penn, and announced: “I need a character,” after not finding the words to express what he wanted to say.
Among those offering their congratulations during the dinner were Andy Garcia, Samuel L. Jackson and Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, who appeared with Al in ‘Any Given Sunday’ and described him as “the greatest actor in the world.”

(In case no one gets it, I’m kidding. I LOVE the Pacino.)
*supersonic* That was cute. Does anyone know if his role in Ocean’s 13 is big or small? Just curious.
I LUV PACINO!!!!!!!!!! OMG he is a true actor! Love him, he deserves more that just this award…. So many great movies and such a great career!
Pacino is amazing but sean penn is pretty fuckin fantastic too!
Listen, I’ve loved Pappy for a loooong time now (even as a child), but he needs to get rid of that god-awful wig/toupe he’s wearing and BURN it alive! It looks about as natural as Pam Andersons tits.
I love Al! Amazing actor.
Homeboy still got it going on.. Supersonic, you are clueless. You do NOT compare Pacino to McConaughey that troll! He hasn’t even been around for half a decade yet.. Whatever…
