Amy Winehouse chugged from a glass of red wine and at first looked like she was going to crash and burn as she appeared in front of a large audience at the Rock In Rio music festival south east of Madrid today.
But as the crowd of 40 000 cheered, the British soul diva kicked off her stilettos in favour of white moccasins, donned a white electric guitar and tore into a rousing rendition of some of her hit songs, including Rehab.
The were no signs of controversy or ill health as Wino delivered a strong vocal performance accompanied by her octet plus two male backing vocalists.
But no luck for an encore — she was seen leaving the outdoor concert venue by helicopter.

She looks like a complete drunken mess. I’m surprised she hasn’t stopped performing all together. At least the fans seemed to be impressed by this performance and not booing at her slurring her words again. I’m getting really sick of her to be honest.
She looks good here. Compared to other concerts… I really hope she will get better.
Were you there Stephi? No. Because I have just heard from my sister who was - and she says Amy was sober, and - absolutely incredible.
So get off her back. You are one of many who see a picture and just rip into her.
If you are sick of her don;t listen: clear off and post on someone less. We can all do without people who are cluless but just moan. Do one please.

If you read what I wrote, you will see that I said she looks like a drunken mess, not that she was one. I did not attend the concert, but judging her from past performances where the fans have been disappointed I am glad to see she didn’t let them down once again. Sorry if I didn’t explain my OPINION clearly enough.

It’s funny how much tolerance there is for certain people and how little for others. It’s a shame that no one seems genuinely concerned about getting this very sick woman some help. Why would you book her? She has become a spectacle and I feel bad for her. I guess they will all wait until she dies, re-release her cd, and talk about what a tragedy it was. Sad.
Happy to hear that she did a good job at this concert. Maybe there is still a ray of hope for her recovery yet. As a side note–she has a great band behind her and those two guys who do her backing vocals are really really excellent……and , in spite of all her questionable activities, I am still nuts about her. She is just plain cool !!!!
I hope you all watch her performances “Love is a losing game” at the Mercury Awards and “Rehab” for DL Records on youtube. Those two performances blew me away.
Why do people think that saying something is their OPINION is some kind of defence for saying stupid shit? Despite what your parents told you, Stephi, the fact that it’s your OPINION doesn’t mean that it’s not WORTHLESS.
She looks much better here than she’s done in months, I’m still rooting for her. She’s great.
