Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiancé Casey Aldridge were spotted shopping for a new truck at Howell Motors Inc. in McComb, Mississippi yesterday.
Despite the cast on Casey’s wrist, he and his babymama/fiancĂ©e test drove a GMC pick-up truck.
Shortly thereafter, the happy couple headed to the Mississippi hospital where they’re expected to give birth to their first child today.
Jamie was joined by her entire family, including big sis Britney Spears. As you may recall, the family flew down to Mississippi yesterday to be with the mum-to-be during her special day.
A Spears insider tells People mag: “They have had nine months to deal with this. Last night was very low-key. There was no last-minute panicking. No one was worried.”
Stay tuned for more deets!
UPDATE: Jamie Lynn reportedly gave birth to a baby girl at 4 AM today delivered via C-section. Or so says the National Enquirer. The latest Spears spawn weighs a healthy 6 pounds, 10 ounces.
Stay tuned for a confirmation!
UPDATE: People confirms that the baby was named Maddie Briann.
Our thoughts on the name? Cute for a puppy, but what about a baby?

I’m wondering if it’s actually Maddie, or if they’re shortening Madeleine or something similar. That will influence my opinion.

I’m liking the fact that its a normal name! I love when a celeb has a baby and they name it something normal… not Apple or Moon Unit or Pilot Inspektor or something ridiculous like that. So for that reason alone, I LOVE THE NAME!!

why a c-section?
June 19th, 2008 at 2:28 pm
oh call it .like it is .. shes a babys mama! bottom line!! fiance… she is a babys mama! they come in the pale race too!

I heard that she had a c-section because the baby was in the breech position (feet down, as opposed to head down). I’m not sure how true that is, though.

A Canadian court has overturned a father’s punishment for his daughter after she refused to stay off the Internet, his attorney said Wednesday.
The girl, 12, took her father to Quebec Superior Court after he refused to allow her to go on a school trip for chatting on Web sites and then posting “inappropriate” pictures of herself online using a friend’s computer, AFP reported.
The punishment was for the girl’s “own protection,” according to the father’s attorney, Kim Beaudoin, who is appealing the ruling.
“She’s a child,” Beaudoin told AFP. “At her age, children test their limits and it’s up to their parent to set boundaries. I started an appeal of the decision today to reestablish parental
authority, and to ensure that this case doesn’t set a precedent.”
Otherwise, she continued, “Parents are going to be walking on egg shells from now on.”
According to court documents, the girl’s Internet usage was the latest in a rash of disciplinary problems. But Justice Suzanne Tessier, who was presiding over the case, found the punishment too severe.

Her brother’s name is Brian. I think it’s cute that they found a way to name the baby after him.

She gave birth today at 9:30 via her vagina.
The baby weighed 7lb 11oz
You did get the name right, though.

Why would they go truck shopping the same day they were expected to have the baby? She looks very cute here regardless, and it’s good to see the rumors about them splitting were not true. It’s a huge weight on these two teenagers shoulders, and they will handle it better together I think.
I think the name is sweet and I’m glad everything has gone well for her. It’s nice her whole family was there to support her as well. That will make this whole experience so much easier for her. Congratulations!

Why not? I know people who worked until they started having their labour pains too often. It’s healthy to be up and move around as much as possible (unless there are actual health reasons not to).
