New parents Dennis Quaid and Kimberly Quaid were at the 2008 Maui Film Festival at the Four Seasons in Hawaii yesterday.The hunky actor was on hand to accept a special Galaxy Award.

Dennis told Extra that they’re planning to leave L.A. for good and move to his wife’s hometown of Austin, Texas.

“The train is going down the tracks. … We have a lot of family there and we have a really nice plot of land. … We have 30 or 40 friends and family members within two miles of us. … It’s kind of a no-brainer.”

Meanwhile, he says their 7-month-old baby twins are doing well, following the medical scare last year. “We took them to the kiddie pool for their first swim today. They loved it.”
