Katherine Heigl and hubby Josh Kelley were spotted lunching at the Mustard Seed Cafe in Los Angeles today.
This is the Grey’s Anatomy actress’ first public appearance since dropping out of Emmy contention.
Earlier today, Katherine, who won best supporting actress last year, quit the Emmy race, telling The Los Angeles Times: “I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization, I withdrew my name from contention,” She added, “In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.”
Hmm, think that’s a slam at the Grey’s writers? And if so, is it justified?

i think she better watch her ass….first she slams the movie she starred in, now the show that made her a “star” me thinks she better think before she speaks.

The press are so two faced. They moan about the writing on Grey’s all season and are very critical of the writing for Katherine’s character - especially the George and Izzie relationship. Katherine is her usual honest self and removes her name for consideration because she doesn’t feel she has had story lines worth of Emmy consideration (a noble move in my opinion - others take note) and now they are critical of her. Hypocrites much? Why? She is right - her storylines were not great this year. Stop attacking her for actually telling the truth. It is not a matter of being ungrateful and she didnt slam Knocked Up either. I think she is getting a lot of completely unfair criticism and has done absolutely nothing wrong.
she wants them to fire her so she can focus on movies. what an ungrateful bitch. dont let her out of her contract and give her worse story lines, or better yet, none at all. i hate this woman!
She’s trying sooo hard to be this “noble” person and be a B-list type of Angelina or something. I’m not falling for it. I think the show should can her @ss. She bites the hands that feed her. Too bad she does’nt have this conscience before she takes the jobs. She seems to realize all the bad things about her gigs after she cashes the checks and gets the attention.
