Clint Eastwood says Spike Lee should “shut his face” about putting black actors into a movie about raising the flag at Iwo Jima.
In a new interview with the Guardian, Eastwood dismisses Lee’s complaint that he had failed to include a single black soldier in his films Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima, both about the 1945 battle for the Japanese island. (CLICK HERE to read Spike’s controversial comments.)
The 78-year-old director justified his choice of actors, saying that those black troops who did take part in the battle as part of a munitions company didn’t raise the flag. The battle is known by the image of US marines raising the American flag on Mount Suribachi.
Says Eastwood: “The story is Flags of Our Fathers, the famous flag-raising picture, and they didn’t do that. If I go ahead and put an African-American actor in there, people’d go: ‘This guy’s lost his mind.’ I mean, it’s not accurate.” Referring to Lee, he added: “A guy like him should shut his face.”

Amen finally this angry little millionaire is put in his place. I am tired of people like sharpton, jesse, Obama’s pastor and this idiot crying racism every 2 minutes and doing a disservice to the black community by victimizing them, all the while collecting the millions of reverse racism.
Clint’s true colors showing through - this man is really a jerk! Maybe they didn’t have to be in the flag raising but not in the movie either. Clint seems to have it wrong - they did fight and should have been in a part of the movie.
Well spike has enough money to go out and make his own version of revisionist history and stop whining and playing the race card every presidential election year.

guest, Clint is not wrong, the only black troops were segregated and while they did fight and died for our country, it wasn’t at Iwo Jima. As a minority my husband and I don’t dwell on overt or subtle racism, we just work as hard as we can and don’t want anything from our government. We have lived in many places where we felt like a fish out of water but never cried race because we refuse to be victims and MOST people are not racist.

Anytime you “arrange” events or situations in favor of a race.. you are simple giving them a backhanded compliment. You are saying, the things you are capable of and things you actually HAVE accomplished are not good enough.. no, we must bend events in history to include you so you don’t feel left out. Spike Lee is a gnat on the butt of an elephant as far as impact on the world stage. The unfortunate reality is that he does have a mouth that spews racial venom and he is a “pot stirrer”. The man should think before he speaks and should check historical documents before slinging mud on those that do (i.e, Eastwood). Speaking about revisionist history, he should have been called out after releasing “Malcolm X” and trying to portray that mfing racist as the savior for the country. Let’s see how much movie going people you get to see “those” movies. 90 percent of movies that don’t have negroes have made it in the movie industry. Just make your own fucking movies if you want to call them movies and get over it. It’s like you want to piggy-back with a Major Producer so people can see negroes in movies.
