In a statement on her website, the Canadian country star says:
“As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life,” the country singer wrote. “I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life.
I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music. This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.
I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever.”
Shania and her ex announced their split on May 15 following a 14-year marriage.

Shania is Eileen. She changed her name to Shania when she became a performer. I honestly think that it was all a big shock to her and she never saw it coming. Poor thing, good to hear she’s trying to keep her chin up.
Her Ex is a famous recluse who knows how to keep his head down–I imagine this will all blow over quickly unless the media keeps banging away at them. Very few photos of Mutt even exist and he’s been well known in the music business for a long long time.
