Brad Pitt didn’t give a second thought about forking over nearly $300 000 at the Art Basel fair today in Switzerland buying a very modern table.
It’s a hollow white marble rococo-style table by the Dutch designer Jeroen Verhoeven.
Brad also ordered the ‘Silver Sky’ rug, a rug made of aluminum created by Colombian designer Jorge Lizarazo and woven by the Colombian-based studio Hechizoo. The price? A mere $175….per square foot!! (No word on Brad’s exact dimensions.)
Meanwhile, Us Weekly reports that Brad’s spending spree actually started yesterday. The design-loving star reportedly picked up two $25 000 bronze chairs designed by Max Lamb as well as the coveted ‘Family Lamp’ by Ateleier van Lieshout.
All together, Brad’s two-day toll came up more than $650 000.

if you got it, why not? that’s a work of art - truly amazing!
Thats just freaking insane people!
Not sure if I like it or not…………strange.
Weird ass looking table
Okay this picture of it - -I HATE IT
This is the one drawback to being Brad’s woman…His preference for abstract and miminalist design. I can’t think if anything less appealing for a home. Then again if Brad’s in the picture…Hmmm.
not practical for a home filled with kids, unless they cordon off museum like areas of the house just for show.
that is an awful table.
The sure have a massive carbon foot print for an eco friendly couple with mega mansions and private planes.
chump change to him. the estimate on his net worth at the time of his divorce was $100 million.
He found that table in somebody’s trash at the curb.
Well he’s really into architecture and all that sort of stuff and if he’s got the money to spend on it, then why not! It’s just as much a hobby (if not more!) than celebrities who drop thousands on clothes. Brad probably has been wanting this piece for a while if he didn’t even hesitate on purchasing it. At first glance to me it just looks ugly, but once I started looking at it it was very interesting and kept me looking for quite a while. Not something I’d put in my house, but each to their own. I’d rather just pick something up from Pottery Barn haha.
So sad when there are people starving here in America and he drops that kind of change on a table.
Brad was only in Basel for 4 hours on Tuesday June 3rd. He flew in from France and went right back the same day. It is easy to be accurate and get the story straight, unlike ET. The info is all over the web that Brad, Owen Wilson, and Sophia Copp were all there on the opening day Tuesday. This is the back view of the table, it is beautiful from the front. Sometimes sellers inflate the prices they claim buyers paid for something, keep that in mind.
Brad’s table will be worth 4 times that much in the future, just because he owned it. Then I bet he will sell it or auction it, to help his causes. I Love him for that. He helps enough starving kids in the world. He indulges in what he loves. God Bless Him!
That is the ugliest freaking table I have ever seen — I don’t care how much money you have or how sophisticated your taste is — that table is FUGLY!!
I love that table! It’s art, people.
300,000 is a little much - but hell, he can afford it. He also spends much of his money of great causes, I like him.
Holy shiite, that table is what nightmares are made of. Art my azz, and that’s speaking as an artist. There’s good taste and BAD taste and there is not ONE “sophisticated” quality about that hunk of ugliness. I appreciate the work involved in crafting it (it was hewn from a solid block of marble) but that’s it. There’s one born every minute.
