Were last night’s MTV Movie Awards about handing out trophies or dissing Paris Hilton?
Sure, Paris may be nothing more than a racist, homophobic, idiot who is only famous for being famous, but the little softie in me thinks host Sarah Silverman went too far with the tooth joke. I mean, seriously, what did teeth ever do to her?

Too far??? Every award show that is hosted by comedians poke fun at whatever is the hot topic at the time. Why is this all of a sudden too far when every comdeian on the face of this planet made jokes about Michael Jackson’s child allegations and no one said sh*t about that going ‘too far.’

She just simply thinks she’s above the law.. maybe this will shift her character a little.. make her realize she is not as “HOT” as she thinks…
What I found really harsh (but also funny) was when the entire crowd cheered about Paris going to Jail… LOL
I don’t like Paris Hilton, but I couldn’t stomach seeing her get humiliated in that way- there’s a difference between poking fun and being cruel, and Silverman definitely crossed into the latter. If you look at the mtv homepage reflecting on the shows’ events… they boast about the incident in a way that suggests they set her up to be humiliated for ratings. Or maybe not. Either way, I did think Silverman went too far… as annoying and irresponsible as Paris is, she is still a person with feelings.
She didn’t go far enough.
It should be made clear to Paris what a joke she is and how much the civilized world despises her.
I think if you’re going to act like a fool for the world to see, then you deserve to get made fun of for it. end of story.
I can’t stand Paris Hilton, but I’m with Aysla. I thought it was hard to watch as well. Plus I can’t stand Sarah Silverman. She’s just mean, not funny.

It’s funny, I thought it was supposed to be worse to talk about someone behind their back. When Sarah said what everyone else has thought millions of times, to her face because she was in the audience, she gets ridiculed for it. Who the hell cares! I think it’s great that she had the balls to say it, instead of backing down when she knew Paris was there. Again, don’t do stupid shit if you don’t want people to talk about it!

whatever. That was hilarious. As others have said, Paris thinks everyone is just jealous of her, and thinks she’s better than everyone else. Plus, she herself has pimped out her sex tapes. So if she can dish that sort of ridiculousness, then she needs to be able to take it. I love Sarah Silverman…she’s hilarious and says what the rest of us think. Paris has said a million mean things herself, and needs to be able to suck it up and handle the heat.

Paris is a joke, she deserves this and so much more, she used the sex tape to propel herself to fame. Paris having sex is the first introduction milllions had to her. So, in most of our minds she is nothing more than a sex joke. Sara just said what most think. Her smug little face proves that she believes that she is better than most and above being ridculed. Hopefully, she will see herself as others do. She shold have known she would be the brunt of jokes just 2 days before her prison term started. If she wasn’t such a publicity whore she would have been spared this in person. She is at every awards show in LA.

That was absoultely humiliating to watch, I can’t even imagine how that makes Paris feel. Although it’s good for her to be humbled every once in a while, that shit was just cruel. Both when it comes to Lindsay and Paris. Make fun, sure, but don’t call people names. Involving the Baldwin incident wasn’t cool at all. And Paris is a racist and a slut and all the other things you can think of, but damn that was some hard shit, I think I would have started crying. normally i would feel empathy for the person being embarrassed, but i dunno, in this case i think it’s entirely appropriate. paris shouldn’t take it personal if it hurt so bad. just think of sarah as making fun of the “persona” of paris not the person.
anyway, i think it was good for paris to be knocked off her pedastal.
The next time Paris is making her racist, homophobic, and poor people comments, remember this moment. How quickly people forget she was behind the whole Lindsay firecrotch thing and so many other vile acts. I applaud Sara for saying it in front of her face. I totally agree with devin. It’s just a classic scenario of someone getting a taste of their own medicine. It makes for good comedy.
Now before I comment, I want to say that I do think that Paris deserves to go to jail and pay for breaking the law BUT I thought the jokes were just out of hand and very mean spirited. It’s not like the joke was said in a private video like Paris’ it was said in front of Paris, all her peers, her family and the massive audience watching. I didn’t think it was funny at all watching someone squirm. This is probably the worst thing thats ever happened in Paris’ life and people are laughing and cheering about it. That’s just sick. It’s not like Paris is an evil person and I think I lot of people like to bring people down who are more successful than themselves….its called ‘tall poppy syndrome’. I think that everyone needs to give her a break and Sarah Silverman needs to take a look at her own life before being so rude and judgemental about anothers. That is not comedy to me.

the jokes were okay, but i don’t think it’s terribly offensive. i’d think paris might be more hurt at the cheering and clapping when sarah said “paris is going to jail this week”… because that part wasn’t the joke. that might have unnerved her and made her uncomfortable for the real jokes.
she was spot on about lindsay lohan b/c she is actually hated in hollywood - that girl just isn’t liked by anyone b/c of her diva ways but contrary to popular belief paris is actually pretty well liked b/c she’s actually extremely friendly … you can’t really judge her by all the home videos out there b/c they were never for anyone to see & what have we all done behind closed doors that we wouldn’t want the world to see? anyway, sarahs paris joke was rather horrible, had paris not been there it wouldn’t have bn as bad but she was right there in the front row & in all honesty i don’t know how ppl refer to her as a slut etc… she has always had long term boyfriends - she doesn’t sleep around as much as 1/2 of the females in hollywood … & also sarah silverman actually stated she felt really bad after that joke & kinda regretted it ..

Here are some words of advice for Paris: If you don’t want to be in the spotlight for bad as well as for good, then DON’T SCREW AROUND AND AIR YOUR DIRTY LAUNDRY IN PUBLIC! She’s willing to behave badly in front of EVERYONE, then she should also expect to have EVERYONE commenting on her bad behavior. ‘Nuff said.
i didn’t think it was too far. paris has built herself up to be talked about in this way- it wasn’t the jokes that were humilitating but the hundreds of people in the audience cheering at them! whatever- it was about 40 sec of embarassment that will be forgotten in a week.

I thought the funniest part , (and the part I remember Paris looking like she was going to cry) was simply when Sarah said, “So, Paris Hilton iis going to jail”, and the amount of CHEERING I heard….. That had nothing to do with the Penis /bars joke. There were a LOT of cheers and whistles from that audience. THAT’S when I saw the priceless expression. This is just previous actions of her life, coming back to haunt her. I don’t feel bad for her at all.
