THE RETURN OF THE SUPERMODEL

Today’s Women’s Wear Daily reports that “although celebrities have hijacked hordes of fashion ads in recent years, Nineties-era supermodels — displaying formidable powers of longevity — have returned with a vengeance in many of fall’s fashion campaigns.”

The list of supermodels making their return in fall-winter campaigns include:

- Linda Evangelista: Prada
- Claudia Schiffer: Chanel & Salvatore Ferragamo
- Eva Herzigova: Louis Vuitton
- Christy Turlington: Escada
- Stephanie Seymour: Loewe
- Amber Valletta: Dsquared & David Yurman fragrance

Welcome back, ladies!

Best news in ages! I hope they keep the celebrities out of the majority of the fashion ads for a season or two.

I’m loving this! Somewhere right now, Rachael Zoe stylist to the young Hollywood losers club, is crying into her stash of meth.

Linda Evangelista is the best, now if only Henry Pinault would acknowledge the son they had together while dating salma.hayek.

Thank goodness, what the hell was that about anyway? Sure I love Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox, but real models need to be on the covers as well!
Miss the early 90’s when models were everywhere lol.

WOW!! Well… FINALLY! I knew this would happen as a backlash to “celebs” on covers & in ads… so cheesy & in bad taste. Models are what they do- model! And they do it beautifully!! Yes, and please do bring on more of the beautiful black woman… shit man, more diversity across the board!! Why not more mixed races… the faces of tomorrow.

Magazines were cool when they used supermodels, but now they have the same celebs year by year on the covers. If at least they show variety, but not, always the same faces.

This is very exciting news!! While it’s great to see different kinds of beauty, I’m tired of the likes of the so-called models that are around today. Besides the Victoria’s Secret models, most of the girls are just not pretty. I mean how can you compare Lily Cole to Claudia Schiffer or Linda Evangelista?? I mean please! These are the real supermodels!

    yeay for supermodels.
its about damn time, models become models. and actors and singers stick to what they are supposed to do.
let those who are great do what they are great at. yeay for supermodels.

Why do they have to reinvent themselves?
Enough is enough.esp Naomi. She´s odd.
