French fashion house Christian Dior has dropped Sharon Stone from its Chinese ads and released a statement from the actress apologizing for saying China’s earthquake may have been bad karma for its treatment of Tibet.
Says Sharon in a just-released statement:
“Due to my inappropriate words and acts during the interview, I feel deeply sorry and sad about hurting Chinese people. I am willing to take part in the relief work of China’s earthquake, and wholly devote myself to helping affected Chinese people.”
As you may recall, Miss Stone said horrific events that happened earlier this month as a result of the way “Chinese are treating the Tibetans.”

Why everytime a celebrity says something stupid (whether in content or at all) do they devote themselves then the to very race, cause or situation they previously condemned? You said it, now deal with it. Her apology statement is so insincere. You meant what you said originally… and short of being able to go back in time and single-handedly stopping the earhtquake, there is nothing you can say or do to erase it. So shut up already. GEEZ!

I agree with you Typo Queen. She can think whatever she wants about it being karma, but to say something as stupid as she did was very very dumb on her behalf and really insensitive towards the Chinese people, who are prpbably against the situation in Tibet themselves. I definately think the should be dropped from anything she is associated with, because she’s an embarassment to them and obviously anything she is endorsing will not be selling in China. Bad move Sharon, and it’s a little late to be trying to take it back now. Her career is over.
Free Tibet? Because going back to its feudal state is so much more appealing? (We’re talking the literal enslavement of hundreds of thousands through serfdom). Trendy cause, but Tibet was never an oasis of enlightenment and peace, as some people seem to think. Of course, I’m not defending recent actions against Tibetan activists by China (just referring to the general cause itself).
