DIVA ON BOARD

steve.bmp

Funnyman Steve Carrell was spotted at the Mercury Airfield in Burbank, California yesterday en route to New York City.

Word is that the 44-year-old actor has developed quite an affinity for flying in private jets ever since he skyrocketed to fame as a correspondent on ‘The Daily Show.’ Sources reveal Steve will even fly privately numerous times a day within state for brief meetings with movie execs.

Something tells me we won’t be seeing his resource-consuming butt at any Hollywood-Saves-the-Environment event any time soon.

Er, what’s so diva-esque about giving someone a tip for helping with your bags???

agree with hello. i don’t see anything diva-esque about these pics. I love Steve Carrell in The Office and Little Miss Sunshine! He is too funny!

Hey at least he’s tipping and making eye contact with people. It’s always awkward when people get your bags for you, I think.

uh, if the dude takes several personal flights a day to locations IN-state, yeah, I’d say that makes him a diva. And a selfish asshole.

there were no captions when i made my first comment, only pics. and i’m sure he is the only millionaire to take private jets to meetings. hmmm, which would you rather do- drive 8 hours across the state, or fly there in 1-2 hours? i would choose the latter thanks.

Sorry, but as much as I adore Carrell, I’ll have to agree with lolly on this one. If choosing between the inconvenience of an 8 hour drive or a 2 hour flight… I’d still choose the drive if it meant less of an environmental impact. Social consciousness and all that. In any case, I hope it’s not true… =(

cupcake, I’d rather drive 8hours than take a two hour flight, because I know that my actions cause a ripple affect!

    Aysla, you rock!

actually, it’s a prerequisite to travel in a private jet (and drive in an SUV) before you spout crap about ‘man-made’ global warming.
arasto, this doesn’t disqualify him whatsoever!

I’m sorry people but just think if celebs drove everywhere…think about when they are promoting something. They have premiere after premiere (in several countries no less!) and do several talk shows and appearances, etc. Not to mention all the ones who have bi-coastal residences. It would be crazy not to use the convenience of a private jet…and there are SEVERAL other ways to help the environment that would make a huge impact. (BTW-I have no idea why I am commenting on this so much-ahh I have become a blog obsessed woman, somebody save me!)

CUPCAKE - They could fly commercial, it has far less impact than flying on a Private Jet. Leo Di Caprio just actually commented during Cannes Film Festival that he only uses commercial now & doesn’t fly private.
400+ passengers on a 747 v’s 1 passenger on a G4 & that 747 is scheduled so it’s going to go whether you’re on it or not therefore it makes sense to take it over a private jet.
