Hot off the press: Check out a just-released snap of Britney Spears at her sister Jamie Lynn’s baby shower in Louisiana last week.
The mum-to-be tells the upcoming issue of OK! magazine, out next week: “It was wonderful to be able to spend time with her and just be girls again. We painted our nails and did stupid stuff, and we had our private time too. To just be sisters again was wonderful.”
Jamie Lynn is due in late June.

So I guess OK! is funding this baby from conception to delivery. They even sponsored the baby shower. That Mama Spears is a master of daughter pimplogy.
Luella I normally agree with you but I think that’s a bit harsh. It’s not like they are pimping out something like a death, its a birth and Jamie is certainly not the only one to have a magazine print photos of baby showers etc etc. I think its fine to do that and its great that Jamie is embracing her pregnancy and seeing the good side of it. Britney looks good here, even if the dress does look a little cheap. They look happy and healthy and its great to see Brit spending time with her family again.

I’m sorry, I’m still having a problem with a 16 year old having a baby…bad enough unmarried celebrities are popping babies out everywhere…I’m no prude, but what are we telling our kids…the ones who can’t afford to raise a child…let alone afford a gallon of gas…
Agree with Stephi. Pretty much everyone is pimping out babies these days. Even non-babies (I am talking about you, Ashlee) Truth is, Jamie is making the best of a bad situation - with extraordinary judgment for a sixteen-year-old (Check out a regular Miley Cyrus at 15) And, Britney is making the effort. Stephi, I don’t think it’s appropriate for a 17 year old to have her teenage, unwed pregnancy promoted and glamorized in a national publication. It sends a bad message. Back in the day, a teenage mother used to have to go into hiding for a year. I’m not saying that is the way to go, but this is the other extreme which is just as harmful.
the baby is doomed. plain and simple. look at the genes its going to inherit.

Luella, so many things in tabloids like OK and US weekly sends bad messages to our youth. young girls doing drugs, or half naked clothing or plastic surgery at a young age, etc etc. there is nothing but trash in those magazines, and so what if she’s having baby young, yes it’s not conventional but it doesn’t make her a bad person.

the picture looks weird, and I resent that ppl think that its a bad idea for her to have a child, I know many 17 year olds that have succesfully raised children and they have done it better than mothers twice even 3 times their age, I think that shes making the most of a bad situation and yes I dont agree with pimping the baby out but most celebrities do that and I think we should wait to judge her first we should see what type of a mother she is.

I find her comments kind of sad knowing that the days to ‘just be girls again’ are soon to be over. Not that she can’t have a great life but it’s about to change drastically. And at 17 that has to be a tough pill to swallow. Cute pic of the two of them, also.

So agree with post 15………….Celebs today have become more entertaining for ridiculous and bad behavior that it’s no longer interesting to see them perform. As for hollyweird a dying “art” more interested in putting out anti american propaganda than entertaining.

I still can’t believe that is Britney Spears. I don’t know what the hell happened to her but she is just not attractive anymore. No matter who gets her ready or how much she hits Bally’s up she is just an unattractive person.
Okay, the picture does look weird. Very photoshopped or something. What happened to Jamie’s dark eye brows?? Anyway, to Luella, I agree. After everything that has gone on with the Spears family(mostly negative) you would think that they would want to keep this as low profile as possible. Not that they are ashamed of Jamie Lynn. But for privacy sake. Why do they feel the need to put this out there for the world to see? Hasn’t Lynn seen what too much publicity does to her children??? Now she’s putting her unborn granddaughter into it. Maybe she wants OK to have the rights so that no one else abuses them I don’t know. I do know that if you want to remain private you can. There are many famous people that you never see or hear about unless they attend something entertainment related etc. It is possible.
To Alexis, I agree with what you have said and there are a lot of young teen mothers that do a great job. But, how many of those teen mothers became mothers because they chose to??? I would think not many. I don’ t support teen pregnancy because from a teen thru your early 20’s is such a great time in your life and you have so much more time for kids later on. THings happen, and Jamie Lynn IS having a baby she can’t change that so I think you are right. DOn’t judge her before we even know what type of mother she will be.
My2cents, you are right. Unfitney looks as if she ATE her two children. WTF is that? If this is how you look when you go to the gym three times per day then she should definitely stop going to the gym.

Hmmm. Sweet AND weird.
I agree with those who are making the best of a not so ideal situation. My sister was pregnant at 16 and had my eldest niece at 17, I understood that that wasn’t what was supposed to happen but things are great now. My sister is 30 years old and she just had her second child last year and her life couldn’t be better.
I think that people should really back off and not be so negative. At least she’s has accepted her responsibility and is not trying to blame others for her mistake(s).
