2008 COSTUME INSTITUTE GALA

Proving that what glitters is not always gold, Michelle Trachtenberg kept it safe this uneventful one-shouldered Grecian gown at Monday night’s Costume Institute Gala in New York City.

Goddess gowns are about as risky as Christian Louboutin peep-toes.

We would have loved to see the new meanie on Gossip Girl in something red. Perhaps Valentino. Vintage!

This is perfectly dreadful. It looks like it’s straight out of the late 70’s. That gold lame’ is just icky.

I think her hair and makeup looks really pretty but I don’t like the dress at all. Too shiny and tacky looking. I like the whole one shoulder thing but that’s about it. It honestly looks like she made this dress herself at the last minute or something. Doesn’t flatter her skin tone or her body at all.
