Leave it up to co-chair Julia Roberts to kick off the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala in New York City.

The big screen beauty was a vision in a platinum Giorgio Armani Privé gown that featureed a soft draped neckline accented by an antique brooch.

The gown was illuminated with intricate beading on a mesh overlay. The custom designed dress was inspired by old Hollywood Glamour.

  3. Hannan El-Shahab Says:

She looks great but she just is not the Julia of the 90’s. She looks harder and colder.

  4. Anonymous Says:

She gave birth and she older now.
    She can’t look the same.

  5. EAT IT Says:

sophisticated. it looks good on her.
she’s a giant next to armani!

  6. Ick Says:

Yeah, she does look large. That little man on her side is not helping.

  7. CarrieAnne Says:

She looks like crap in that dress!

  8. Mammamia Says:

She looks fat and frumpy— a big disappointment

PS– Giving birth (at any age) is not an excuse to look lousy

I think she looks lovely. The gown is simple but gorgeous.

For all of you who says she looks fat and frumpy. You all need fucking therapy. You’re all fuck up in the head and have distorted views of what is skinny and fat. No wonder American girls are so fuck up.

I think she looks great! Sure she’s not as slim as she used to be but she’s not really focusing on her career anymore, she’s looking after her kids! She’s still gorgeous and her smile just lights up her whole face. Great to see her on the red carpet again!!

  13. Leti Says:

I think she looks gorgeous. Have always liked her with brown hair (though red works on her, too). She is absolutely not fat! She’s a tall woman, and I think she carries a little extra weight well. Frankly, I think she was starting to look hard several years ago, before she had her kids when you could tell she was working way to hard to maintain that stick thin figure.

  14. CarrieAnne Says:

I didn’t say she looked fat, I just said she looked like crap in that dress. Maybe it is all awkward camera angles or something, but in these pics, the dress she has on does not flatter her figure at all.

  15. beforesunrise Says:

Quite boring dress imho. Not creative nor daring at all.
C’mon Julia, it’s Costume Institute Gala!

  16. grannytranny Says:

I’m not the biggest fan of hers, but she looks like shit here. Too old. She should ALWAYS wear her hair down, and she could have picked a more flattering dress, for sure. I don’t think silver is good on her either. Any other color would have looked better.

  17. desire Says:

she looks great. look in the mirror, you haters. watch the cellulite jiggle in your own bodies. julia looks great here and age appropriate and glamorous. hair down won’t work with this dress. she looks classy.
