Part One of Oprah’s much-hyped two-day chat fest with Tom Cruise at his Telluride, Colo., home airs today; the second part, taped Friday at her Chicago studio, airs on Monday.
The once whacky actor kept his cool in the studio and in Telluride - no jumping-bean moments. People had these previews of the first part: About those couch-jumping antics: “It was a moment and it was real,” Tom says.
Is he just misunderstood? “I feel like definitely things have been misunderstood, and there are things I could have done better. But then there’s also that world where you go, ‘Oh, it’s been spun to such an extent.’ ”
Videos of the encounter show Tom still looks remarkably cute and boyish. Or he’s got a fab makeup artist.

I don’t care how cute he is. he’s a narrow-minded, intolerant, self-righteous jerk and I will never pay to see any of his work again.

It was alright and I usually am pretty critical of him.
That being said - I’ve never been a Tom Cruise fan so I haven’t ever paid to see his work.

when it comes to movie stars and entertainers the crazier the better. the sane normal folks are usually the crummiest actors.
The crazies are always great actors and actresses.
What IS it about him that seems so damn insincere? Especially when he’s talking about his wife, her family, Nicole, his kids…god, it all seems as rehearsed as a politicians speech. Creepy in the worst way.
Lola Lola - you’re right about the insincerity regarding Nicole…that whole bit about them sharing custody seemed so fake and like he wasn’t giving the full truth.
Oh I’m sure this has all been rehearsed down to every facial expression. I do feel sorry for Tom for all the flack that he gets. Yes he’s a little strange sometimes and his religion isn’t something that we can all understand, but I don’t think he’s a bad guy! He’s just different and he has every right to be that way. The press has made him look a lot worse than he actually is because of all this Scientology stuff. If that’s what he wants to live his life by than that’s his decision.
@ Stephi Usually I’m very tolerant towards someone’s personal belief, but Scientology isn’t your innocent, fluffy, new age inspired religion. They are extremists and they think they stand above the law. And with the legal team in the Scientology organisation; they are probably right when they think that, seeing as they seem to get away with everything. It makes me sick. did anyone notice that tom tightly tucked the back of his shirt in, but left the front of the shirt untucked? like he was trying to look casual, but not fat? i couldn’t stop looking at his shirt.
