WHATEVER HAPPENED TO REAL MAGIC?

David Blaine set a new world record today for holding his breath for 17 minutes and 4 seconds.

The feat was broadcast live during The Oprah Winfrey Show and the studio audience cheered as divers pulled the 35-year-old magician from a water-filled sphere.

The previous record was 16 minutes and 32 seconds.

Said Blaine: “It’s always been a lifelong dream.”

I agree… what the hell does this have to do with magic? Or is he feeling put out to pasture by Cris Angel? One has to wonder!

That is insane!! Did he actually hold his breath that long though or was it just a magic trick? Surely if its just an illusion it wouldn’t be counted as ACTUALLY holding your breath for that long. Great way to encourage kids to kill themselves in the pool.

that dude is just clamouring for attention,
it was a test of endurance not a magic trick; which is all well and good if you are an athlete or something
but this guy claims to be a magician. magicians do magic tricks not endurance shit

must be an trick or an illusion the real record was like 5+ mins and that man who did it was in like an near death stance ( brain disolves after 5 min without air) and this guy did it for 16 unless his mother was an mermaid i wont belive it
