DANES FOR GUCCI

Movie star Claire Danes always glitters on the red carpet. And now Gucci is capitalizing on it.

The 29-year-old actress was announced today as the face of a new Gucci fine jewelry campaign, replacing Drew Barrymore, who did the job last year for its first celebrity ads.

Says Gucci creative director Frida Giannini: “Claire Danes is a modern icon. For me she is one of the most interesting young actresses on the international scene.”

She just does not say Gucci to me! I like her as an actress but just not a rep for Gucci.

I think she is an excellent actress (I remember her early stuff on “My so called life”)–she is interesting looking without being a great beauty. I would classify her as a “serious actress”. Under certain conditions she can be kind of sexy.
