Remember a few weeks ago when former SNL star Rachel Dratch happened to mention to New York magazine that she was unemployed and kind of bummed about it?
She was quoted as saying: “I’m starting to go crazy. I’m ready for a job.” The low point came, she said, when last month’s Vanity Fair arrived with its cover story on women in comedy, featuring a dozen top comediennes–none of whom was Dratch. “Dude, that was a dark day,” she recalled.
Well, things have surely changed. Her little want ad did wonders. Rachel’s now got three jobs — a play, a TV pilot and a Craig Ferguson appearance.
We couldn’t be happier for her!

She is so funny I love love love love her!!!!!
I dont want to be mean, but to be in TV and in films you HAVE to have a certain look and I am not shocked to see her without work, especially now that she is getting old.
And is not with woman, I read several not so handsome actors complain that even if they were perfect for a part and could do a great job, they would lost for a more attractive actor.
I am not really surprised to see her without work now that she left SNL
She is hilarious but really type casted!!! Tough to get work!!
Love her!!!
She should have never left Saturday Night Live!!!! She is going to be like so many SNL performers who never work again. Tim Medows anyone???
Sara, maybe we should just burn all the “not so handsome” people? Good work, Hitler Sara!
Does anyone know the reasons she gave for leaving SNL?
She still got some funny in her.
i thought she left snl to be a featured performer on 30 rock, but then she got totally railroaded — they wanted a ‘prettier’ lead and went with that jane krakowski chick. to add insult to injury, they made dratch the cat lady on the show and now she’s not even on it anymore. welcome to showbiz, dratch!
