On Sunday night, VH1 aired ‘Last Days of Left Eye’, a documentary chronicling the life and sudden tragic death of TLC rapper Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes.
The clip above documents the final seconds before she and a group of friends swerved and rolled off of a treacherous two-lane country road in Honduras in 2002. (Interestingly, she “reportedly” died in a head-on crash.)
The accident claimed the young rapper’s life. The rest of the people on board survived.
Needless to say, viewer’s discretion is advised.

creepy…..
SHAMELESS
This isn’t a video that has “surfaced” on the internet. It’s from the VH1 movie that has been on called “The Last Days of Left Eye”
One of the articles they showed also said that she was wearing a seatbelt, but i didn’t see one on her.
Sad.
spooky. so what was in the magic Coke tin?
i don’t want to watch the clip…too creepy
thats really sad. rest in peace left eye.
wow that is really crazy.. i can’t believe vh1 aired this.. and it did’nt look like she was wearing a seat belt.
None of those people were wearing seat belts, what were they thinking, “I’m on vacation, I don’t have to wear a seat belt”
i can’t watch it. interesting that there is a clip of moments before the tragedy.
My heart literally froze for just a second. This just makes me appreciate my own life a little more — seeing that someone can be smiling and 10 seconds later they can be dead. It’s all very humbling.
Ive never been to Honduras so I dont know if they have seatbelts or not, but when I was in SE Asia 95% of cars didnt have seatbelts. I found that really frustrating as an Australian, where we all do it without thinking twice because its the law. I felt really unprotected without one but I had no choice.
It’s so tacky to put stuff like this out there. I don’t want to see it at all. I saw a picture of Marilyn Monroe’s autopsy once that was just thrown in there with all the other pictures, and I really wish I could unsee it. Some people have NO sensitivity.
What’s with the product placement??
i dont think its right to post a video like this.. what is the point?
That was pretty awful. I love TLC.
It’s sad. Really sad that’s all I can say.
Think the tin coke box is where she kept her pot?
Its really low-class to even post this, Arasto. You’re bordering on losing a reader. I know you put a disclaimer, but really, it shouldn’t even be posted. I, myself, have too much respect for the dead be entertained by her demise.
Jesus Christ people, everyone dies. It’s going to happen to every single one of us. Her family approved this. Exactly what is so bad about Arasto posting it? Death is a fact of life, just like birth. No one seems to find birthing videos disrespectufl to babies.
Yeah, her family was 100% behind this project so there’s no need to blame Arasto. He’s simply posting what is being shown on VH1. It’s not often that someone’s final seconds on earth are actually captured on film. It is so eerie to look at her calm face knowing that she’s driving towards her death in a matter of seconds. Wow. It’s just so sad. And no, I don’t see a seatbelt either.
The girl asked to see the cards……Im assuming that there were cards in the tin,I have seen them packaged in a similar tin before??????I did not see a seat belt either, unless it was just a lap belt. You can tell she is driving fast though.
That’s my opinion, deal with it
This is must see TV. Really great footage!
But why was she being filmed while driving?
4.54, totally agree.
BTW, I find birthing videos very disturbing, it’s so gross!!!
Birthing videos are gross, and frankly, if my parents had done that, I WOULD be offended. Yeah, I know I came out of there, I don’t need to see it, and I don’t want anyone else to see it. The fact that people do that and show it to ANYONE, no matter how close they are, is completely ridiculous and self-absorbed.
LOUISE: I live in Honduras. I am a Honduran. We DO have seatbelts. We have LAWS against driving without your seatbelt on.
Oh, and we also have houses, computers, wi-fi, hospitals, malls, highways, restaurants, universities, coffee shops, libraries, cities, etc….
@ starr
completely agree with you. what’s interesting are left eye’s eyes, while she’s driving. how much can you read into/from them?
Honduras definitely has seatbelts as all civilized nations do. It’s a great country, especially for diving. It boasts one of the best coral reefs in the world. Just because a tourist died in Honduras without her seatbelt on, famous or not, it shows more about her lack of ’smarts’. The country she died in has nothing to do with it.
Anony… I lol’d at your post =D. Anyway, I understand Louise was only curious and her comment was completely innocent… it may have offended you unintentionally, but I’m sure she didn’t mean it that way. Lets have a little tolerance…
As for the video, I didn’t bother reading past the first line (”documentary”) before I pressed play and didn’t expect to see what happened. It’s creepy and very sad… just as you said, The Beautiful One, I was amazed at how life can be so normal and you are smiling and happy one minute, and then the next minute it’s all gone. Don’t take things for granted, tell the people you love and care for that you love them, and try to live your life to the fullest- no regrets, no missed opportunities. I’m not very open with my affections, but this video made me think twice about it… what if one day you say goodbye to someone important to you and they get into a car and that’s the last you see of them? =(
I haven’t watched the clip, not sure if I want to…and I think it’s completely appropriate for people to voice their ?(disgust, concern, whatever) at Arasto posting it, as Arasto is a HUMAN, a PERSON, not a CORPORATION, so he has personal responsibility for what he chooses to put on his site..
I’m still laughing at whoever said 95% of cars in SE asia don’t have seat belts, c’mon that’s ludacris. maybe way up in the rural areas, out in the country….but that’s like visiting the Appalachian mountains in the US and then assuming America doesn’t have running water or electricity! :OP
Lolly, I live in a valley of the Appalachians and I assure you we have running water and electricity. Sure there are people who don’t but those are mostly survivalist who live that way on purpose because of their mental defect or religious beliefs or some other odd reason.
Aysla, you’re right. I was wrong for snapping at Louise. I’m just used to people asking if we have electricity and cars and stuff like that… *hugs*
Sergey: You HAVE to go to Roatan and Utila! The best diving in the world…
SO SAD!! While it is sort of disturbing to watch footage like this, I think its important for some people to see in order to be more careful with their lives. The family was behind this project and there was actually more footage than this when the camera continued running after the crash, but it was thought to be way to disturbing as you actually hear them die. Maybe watching this sort of footage will help people realise how quickly their own lives can be over and how careful you should be when driving, especially in places unknown to you.
Um, Anony and Sergey, you need to relax. There is no way I ever even hinted at Honduras not being a “civilised” place. All I said is that they might not have seatbelts. Bangkok for example has “houses, computers, wi-fi, hospitals, malls, highways, restaurants, universities, coffee shops, libraries, cities, etc….”, they just dont have many seatbelts! God, it sounds like you have a serious chip on your shoulder or something. And Lolly, I am sorry, but while I was in Thailand and Laos for a month I only travelled in one car with a seatbelt. Why the fuck would i make that up? What would be the point?
Anony, I just spotted your second post, thanks. I am just really annoyed that everyone attacked my post which was totally valid. I didnt make any judgements against anyone and I simply stated what my exparience had been. Now everyone assumes that I am ignorant! Whatever!
Anony, I completely understand! I’m part Dominican, part Peruvian and I get asked all sorts of odd questions all the time… but I realize that most people are genuine in their curiosity and perceptions, and I try not to take offense to some things.
Although I have to admit I get annoyed when people learn I speak Spanish and they go, “OMG! Say something in Spanish!”. That’s innocent too… but I always feel like the little doggy that’s told to shake paws and roll over. Haha, anyway ***hugs***.
