‘DEATH PROOF’ TAKES OVER CANNES

When ‘Grindhouse’ was released in the U.S., it was a complete flop at the box office. Now Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Planet Terror’ and Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Death Proof’ are being released as stand-alone films at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The entire cast and seemingly much of the crew were in Southern France today to yap (and yap and yap) to the international press about just why American audiences didn’t get the Grindhouse-style of filmmaking.
Most everyone has already seen ‘Death Proof,’ but they haven’t seen the lapdance. Tarantino being Tarantino, he wrote a 125-page screenplay for what was supposed to be a film short enough to fit in the double feature ‘Grindhouse.’ He cut it down to 90 minutes for the U.S. release, but added a little more than 20 minutes back to it for the stand-alone film screened at Cannes.

Rose is really in love herself, huh? I wonder if Quentin Tarantino has a low level form of autism. My 6 year old son does and whenever I see Quentin in an interview he reminds me of they way my son speaks and gets fixated on things.

my2cents i’ve wondered if Quentin is an Aspie before! My mum works with some kids with Autistic tendencies and ive noticed the way he behaves as well.

Quentin looks like he is crying in that picture! Rose kinda annoys me in these shots as well, how she is trying desperately to be the center of attention. She really doesn’t have to try too hard in that dress. I really admire Quentin’s work. A lot of people don’t really take the time to appreciate it and understand it but he really has got an amazing eye and his work is recognisable instantly unlike a lot of his peers. I didn’t mind Grindhouse but it was very long.

Rose is and LOOKS like a used up whore. What the hell happened to her face? This chic is supposed to be 30 (or around that age) but she looks like she’s over 40. That lip colligen looks stupid on her and her obviouse need for all of the attention in these photos makes her look desperate.

i saw grindhouse twice. i knew it would be an instant classic. but i agree the style can’t please the majority.

I’m not as big a fan of Quentin as I should be (being a film nerd) because I just think he’s ripping off a lot of genres that really he has no right to that being said, he does make a kick ass movie. Anyway my real point is HOW are these two getting laid so often? I CANNOT understand it? I too feel concern for Rose McGowan as she was once the baddest bitch but then after dating Manson fell by the wayside…oddly same thing has happened to Dita once the bastion of classy women now seen knickerless like *shudder* Lindsay Lohan. Watch out Evan Rachel Wood! You’re next! *cackles*
