Initially, the 53-year-old mogul laughed off the report, when she heard about the book, but later her sister said that it would be better to call him up and it was then he told her about the book, ‘Things Unspoken.’
Per the New York Daily News:
Winfrey said she laughed recently when “one of my assistants said, ‘The Daily News is calling. They say they heard your father is writing a book about you.’ I said, ‘That’s impossible. I can assure them it’s not true.’
“But then my sister said, ‘I think you should call your father.’ I called him and it turned out he is writing a book. The worst part of it was him saying, ‘I meant to tell you I’ve been working on it.’ ”
Winfrey, 53, confided, “I was upset. I won’t say ‘devastated,’ but I was stunned.”
“The last person in the world to be doing a book about me is Vernon Winfrey,” she added. “The last person.”
I am not sure what’s more shocking — the fact that O’s father is penning a tell-all or the fact that Oprah is seemingly able to talk to the dead. Her half-sister died more than four years ago.

Oprah does have a living sister.
Oprah had 2 sisters and 1 brother. Her brother and one of her sisters died.
Maybe she has not given him as much $$ as he has expected. She is worth a billion dollars. Not saying it is the right thing for him to do but something about her tells me she may not be that friendly with her family.

I am shocked this is happening to her, how awful!!!!! is it really a “tell all” though, or some feel good inspiration type book??
I admittedly know nothing about Oprah, but I get the impression that she has little or no relationship with her father. Jennifer Aniston and her Mum spring to mind. That fact that she’s talking openly about it is a credit to her. Even if it is sensational, it probably won’t be believable.
but i remember her telling this story about how her father got out of a traffic ticket once, cuz he told the officer he was just getting used to the fancy drivin’ luxery car that his daughter OPRAH had bought him….???
