This just in: Ashlee Simpson is engaged to boyfriend Pete Wentz!!!
According to In Touch Weekly, the couple headed to Colorado just days ago where Pete’s brother had an art exhibit, and that is where he “got down on one knee” and popped the big question.
Says a source: “She has an amazing ring, and they are so in love.†What’s more? Ashlee’s parents, Joe and Tina, are said to be “thrilled!”
UPDATE: The happy twosome have just confirmed the story.
“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes - it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us.”

YAY!! I don’t know why, but I really like them as a couple and I’m really rooting for them. I have a feeling that they will last actually. Ashlee seems like the kind of girl that wouldn’t just get married for the sake of it and Pete as well. I don’t think they will be the type of couple to sell photos and try and get a whole ton of publicity, because they’ve kept their relationship fairly quiet so far.
