Angelina Jolie believes that there are other matters to be concerned about than the negative things people say about her.
The ‘A Mighty Heart’ actress spoke to Ann Curry in an interview about her life and ideals.
Here’s a little preview:
Angelina on whether she’s aware of all the things written about her in the press: “No. I mean, I can assume. I know there’s a cycle of certain things that they keep rewriting or whatever, but I can assume things are made up. But no, I haven’t a clue. (laughter) And why would I, you know? There’s nothing I have to hide or defend. You know, I’m gonna live my life. And there are gonna be times when people wanna try to attack me and I don’t know why, but they will. And that’s okay.”
Angelina on whether she’s concerned about bad press: “Well, there are other things I’m more concerned about. My kids are healthy. I have a lot I want to do in this world. Before I do, I wanna do a lot of things as a woman, as a mom, and that’s my focus. At the end of the day, I’m gonna be dead… and what people say about me is gonna be what I accomplished and what I did in my life and how my children are.”
Angelina on — you guessed it — the press: “I have always been honest about who I am, and I’ve always been very outspoken to press. I think people have heard a lot from me over the years. …[If] people wanna believe negative things, they will. … I can’t help that. I’m gonna be dead one day. And what people say about me is gonna be what I accomplished and what I did in my life and how my children are.”
The interview is scheduled to air on Wednesday on the ‘Today’ show and ‘Dateline NBC.’

Is she meant to have repeated herself like that with the last two questions? While Angelina does seem a bit different sometimes, I like that she has never tried to hide that. If all celebrities were honest about their private lives and their pasts then I think we would be calling Angelina one of the normal ones! She seems to have a good head on her shoulders and has a good view of the press. It must be hard for her to be hounded all the time, especially when she’s trying to raise four children, but she has never lashed out at the paparazzi that I can remember.

more like knowing how to manipulate it. she’s such a fucking attention getter, it’s not even funny. and her last comment about what she’d like to be remembered by illustrates that point completely. she wants to be remembered as a saint, and it seems that now the only reason why she’s doing all the ‘good’ things in the world like adopting and helping poor countries is not because every human being is morally obligated to do so but because people will talk about what a saint she is.
i dunno…but every word that comes out of her mouth screams ‘bullshit’ to me.
it’s probably just me. but there’s something that’s off about her. she’s never appears genuine in her interviews.

There are many women in this world that will never be remembered (nor do they want to be remembered) for far more remarkable tasks than Jolie can only dream of!!. Jolie has just found a way to manipulate ignorant people into believing that she is somehow “special”. When you are really doing something to help this world, you don’t run around in the press and telling everyone how great you are. She is a fucking mediawhore paying a PR person to make her seem “important”. Enough of this adoration nonsense. An no, I cannot stand Aniston, Pitt and most celebrities.

Regardless of whether Angelina is looking for attention or wanting to be remembered as a Saint… at least she’s doing something positive to help change the world. She’s giving more of herself than most people do.
How is adopting third world countries’ children changing the world? She gives a part of her income? And? So? So do COUNTLESS other celebrities. And they give a shitload more than Angelina Jolie does. AND they do it quietly, without the need for the press, the paps, the interviews, the nonsense. She was well down the list of celebs who give.
She’s not tryingto do something positive, she’s trying to change her image as a hell raising blood drinking brother kissing vampire loving self destructive imbecile. She wants to be taken seriously as an actress, and she wanted to break out of those roles…the Gone in Sixty Seconds/Tomb Raider/Girl Interrupted roles where she basically plays the same type of character to varying degrees and move into roles like the one she’s got now as Marianne Pearl.
She’s not untalented, but anyone who thinks Jolie is doing any of this for any other purposes than her own is simply deluded. The attention to the countries like Cambodia and Darfur and where ever the hell her white baby was born is simply a positive by product of her pushing her own agenda.

It kills me the way her and brad act like they are the only 2 people in the world to ever realize the importance of raising kids. What about the parents all over the world doing the same thing and doing a great job without nanny’s and millions of dollars. Or parents with special needs kids, or the single mothers working their asses off and raising good kids at the same time. Or the foster families (the GOOD foster families) that take care of hundreds of kids a year?
They adopt a couple kids and donate some money and all of a sudden they are humanitarians? Please. Them donating 10 million dollars is like a normal person donating $100. These two make me sick with how pius and righteous they think they are.
People tend to forget that AJ & BP are celebrities (A-listers) and everything they do and say will be blasted in the media (good or bad). I for one, think they handle themselves very well. Not everyone will agree with things they say or do, thats life, even us regular folks-not everyone likes “you”, But its the way you handle it and your life in general that counts and I think they do a good job of that…my opinion.
They chose to be actors. They have risen to the top of their game. They have fame & fortune that we can only dream of. They have created an intriguing personal life. They have clearly succeeded in many ways…and we want to knock them down. It’s almost impossible to not be suspicious of people that seem so far removed from normal life.
I think it’s interesting how when Arasto posts pics of Brangelina everyone oohs and aahs over them, but when he posts an interview with Angelina, everyone is disgusted by it. Of course she is going to defend herself when asked these questions, isn’t that what any of you would do? And who cares if she gets PR from being an ambassador…at least she is raising awareness and that’s doing a lot more than the likes of LiLo and Paris, etc.
