Elijah Wood was more than happy to sign a few autographs for fans while leaving the Radio One studios in London today.
Everyone’s favourite hobbit was on hand to do a guest gig on Edith Bowman’s afternoon show.
So, what’s a seemingly high paid Hollywood star doing hosting a low rent radio program? Since wrapping up the uber popular Lord of the Rings trilogy in 2006, young Elijah has hit what you may call a slight career speed bump. He has only two projects lined up for this year — a low budget flick directed by Ãlex de la Iglesia (who?) and a voiceover role in a post-apocalyptic animation movie.
Perhaps Mr. Wood should call fellow out-of-work actor Amanda Bynes. Like they say, there’s power in numbers!

So if you’ve never heard of somebody that instantly makes them a nobody? Ãlex de la Iglesia is a very well-known Spanish director and I wouldn’t exactly call Edith Bowman’s show low rent. But would an ignorant z list celebrity obsessed American like yourself know anyway…
Movie sounds like the show on tv already called numbers!!
Name of this movie is:The Oxford Murders
At Oxford University, a professor and a grad student work together to try and stop a potential series of murders seemingly linked by mathematical symbols.
HOMO!!
Thank you, Liffey! I was going to say exactly the same!!!!!!!!
such beautiful eyes
Well, my man DOES have that little film called THE HOBBIT coming out…
YESSSS!!!!!!!! MY PRECIOUS!!!!!!!!
i’m sure he’s pretty set after LOTR. everything else after is gravy.
Falling Star?
“A Star is a ball of gas in the sky”…
there is no assurance that Elijah would be in The Hobbit. and truthfully what’s the point of Frodo being in Bilbo’s tale?
but in all fairness to Elijah, if he wanted to use his popularity to nail those big Hollywood projects he could, its just that he’s more interested in building his record label and learning anything and everything to do with the music biz. notice that all the projects he’s doing lately has little to do with cameras and images and everything to do with the mic and sound: voice over projects, radio interviews, DJing in gigs here and there. if you look at his latest projects to date, it looks like an OJT for someone who wants to make a career in the recording industry.
Erm… isn’t he preoccupied with his record label? He started it only two years ago…
I’m from London, in no way is Radio One LOW BUDGET! Its run by the BBC and one of the biggest radio stations in England!
Be careful blogger theres crazy sad old ladies that are dangerously obsessed with him . they WONT allow any opinions of your own!!!!!.
BBC Radion 1 is NOT LOW RENT you fucking douche!
BBC Radio is the most important Radio Service in the world. I think you’ll fing BBC World Service has been the most important since the 40’s & the only station that goes out to the ENTIRE WORLD!
As for BBC Radio 1 - It’s one of the most listened to stations & has the most high profile presenters & each day has A list guests on with other presenters such as Chris Moyles & Jo Whiley. Not to mention it’s based in London which is one of the capitals of the world along with NYC. DO SOME RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SPEW COMPLETE GARBAGE YOU FUCKING CANADIAN MUPPET!
& also
I think you’ll find some of Radio 1 shows have large audiences in the US who listen online or through the podcasts. Seriously, every post you make has mistakes & rubbish in it. AT LEAST PEREZ GETS THINGS CORRECT - UNLIKE YOU!
I take it you don’t watch the Oscars. If you did you might have heard of a little movie called Happy Feet. It was a pretty big hit and Wood was the voice of the lead character. With merchandising alone from that and Rings he probably never has to work again unless he wants to.
and like the others said, BBC1 is one of the world’s major radio networks. You would think someone pretending to write an entertainment blog would know something like that.
you should read a little more about european radio shows and spanish directors before saying crap like this.
Well,I’m sorry for my bad English, I’m from Spain, WHERE??SPAIN that wonderful country where Alex de la Iglesia is considered one of the most important directors. What do you think you are??If you don’t know how important Alex is it’s not our fault, please be careful with your no sense words before you post them… be informed, my friend.
Elijah….you don’t have any idea about Elijah Jordan Wood. He’s no need blockbusters or something like that,he’s an actor, an incredible actor and obviously, he’s no need to show ANYTHING.There are so many people in this world who know about his talent, people like me.I know perfectly how Elijah is and I’ll support him because he deserves it.
ALEX TE QUEREMOS!!!
Exactly EAT IT. I kind of respect an actor who has a big pay day and then takes on smaller projects he likes. And, by the way, wasn’t he in several post LOTR movies like “Sin City”, “Green Street Hooligans” etc., etc.
See what I mean? just look at them!.
that “Falling Star” replies thing was really, really sad. Okay, the person in question is a philistine as far as directors are concerned, but who cares? It’s his opinion, he can have it, and there’s nothing wrong with it being different from yours. I took a look at it, shrugged, and checked to see when my favorite bands cd comes out!
