Pregnant man Thomas Beatie told Oprah today on her show: “I don’t feel like I was born in the wrong body. I feel like I was meant to be exactly who I am today.”
The 34-year-old father-to-be, who was born a girl and still has those reproductive organs which is how he is able to carry a baby, grew up having boyfriends, and even entered beauty pagents, “but I felt like I was pushed into it. It was what I had to do.”
When he hit his teenage years, Beatie had an attraction to women and “later in my 20s I really started to feel that way.”
He began the process of transitioning to a male, taking testosterone, having his breasts surgically removed and changing all important documents from F for female to M for male. He married his longtime girlfriend Nancy (whom he met when he was still Tracy), but she couldn’t get pregnant after having had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis. Through insemination with donor sperm, he’s now pregnant with a daughter due in July.
He adds, “I’m a person and I have a right to have my own biological child.”

Woww quite the story. It’s certainly strange to see what looks like a man with a baby inside his belly. It’s great that he’s able to do this though and I’m sure his partner is fine about it. I feel really sorry for him though because you just know that he’s going to cop a beating walking down the street like a pregnant man. I also feel sorry for the child too, because its going to be very hard to explain to it the complicated story about how he or she came onto this earth. First of all i would like to start off by asking you all, what determines sex? I believe the sex organs determine whether you are called a male or a female. ^I don’t know much about how it works, but apparently some of the effects of the hormone treatment (such as facial hair, etc.) are permanent. And in some of the pictures shown, it looked like the facial hair actually used to be thicker when the individual was taking hormone treatments. It’s kind of sparser now in comparison.
There is no way that he/she has hair on their face without taking some sort of hormones…testosterone.
