REESE GETS HER CHARITY ON

Dogooding Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon recently headed south to New Orleans to volunteer at a local school, according to Us Weekly.
Her trip will be featured on the April 9 Idol Gives Back special airing on FOX.
Reese visited a Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School where troubled kids learn about community leadership. The 32-year-old actress is a longtime Children’s Defense Fund member and in 2006 helped open the city’s first Freedom School.

She seems genuinely excited to be there. getting involved and not just throwing money at the problem is, IMO, far more charitable. Kids want to be loved and appreciated and SEE the loving faces of those who care… Seeing a oversized check be issued to their village or organization doesn’t offer that same TLC

This is probably the first time she’s been around black, hypocritical celebs the ulterior motive is more roles, because in hollywood you have to obsess over poverty and politics to stay on top..
