Giada De Laurentiis has given birth to a girl!

De Laurentiis and her husband, Todd Thompson, welcomed their first child, Jade Marie De Laurentiis Thompson, Saturday in Los Angeles, her representative says.

The baby is the first for the 37-year-old Food Network star and Today contributor and her 44-year-old clothing designer beau.

When asked about her new bundle of joy, Giada described her as golden and crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside.

Congratulations!

  2. Anonymous Says:

    LMAO!!!! Crispy on the outside!!!

  3. EAT IT Says:

    yeah, seems like another c-section.
    congrats to them both!!

  4. Sushi Says:

That’s the first thing that I thought of too—a section!! That baby’s head is just too perfect to have squeezed her head through……

But she seems like a sweet woman, so I’m happy for her and her husband.

does anyone else get these stop content theif things?

  6. synn Says:

    Who is she?

  7. Metoo Says:

I cant stand her but I do find the release of the delivery room photo a refreshing change from the overly stylized glam baby photos of late (hello JLo and Xtina)

That said enough with the celeb c sections- the kid was 5 + pounds a good sneeze would have shot her out….

  8. Stephi Says:

I don’t know how all you guys are just assuming this is a c-section…how can you tell? I really like her though and her little bubba is cute! She looks pretty damn gorgeous after just having a baby I must say!

  9. Corey Says:

hahaha “a good sneeze would have shot her out”
giada looks exactly the same in every picture ive seen of her…big cheesy smile

How is her makeup so intact after giving birth? I always imagine women giving birth sweating with no makeup on or is that just how movies and TV shows portray labor?

  11. Janet Planet Says:

Stephi: They’d certainly not be dressed like this for a natural birth, and she’d be looking like she just ran a marathon - not like she’s a contestant on Mrs. America.

Metoo: I agree. The Photoshop children and their overly made-up moms are strange. Especially Christina. I don’t get her look - never have, she looks like a little girl that found her moms make-up kit. Kinda icky.

  12. Miss Says:

yes, you can tell from the baby’s face it was a C section baby. Im sure it was her choice to have a C section, it’s so vain, at least Nicole Richie didn’t have one.

  13. Jennz Says:

I still think its a set up. Even after a C-section there is no way you would look so alert. They drug you up and getting a spinal aint no walk in the park!

…Giada described her as golden and crispy on the outside but soft and tender on the inside.

I laughed!! You don’t wear surgical gear when you deliver vaginally (at least I didn’t) and you surely do NOT look that normal/good after hours of labor either (picture yourself after having a wet washcloth on your face/hair - not pretty).

  15. hotbitch Says:

Stephi, you have to wear scrubs for a c-section and that blue sheet is covering her open womb. I do find it refreshing that she released the birth photo. I can’t wait to see that little baby; I think she will be gorgeous. I like the name, too; Jade is the American version of Giada.

  16. Phyllis Brantley Says:

  18. LAURIE SMITH Says:

THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE PHOTO OF GIADA AND TODD AND THEIR DAUGHTER!! FINALLY GETTING TO SEE HER..

after a c-section you can look alert and good. a c-section is a pc of cake. had one two months ago (bec. it was necessary - not by choice) and i’d do it again in a heart beat. the most pain you feel is the epidural and that pain only lasts about 15 seconds. i wouldn’t even call it pain — just discomfort. she looks great! that pic is not staged. a c-section is pretty relaxing. congrats g!

  20. Sandra Says:

The whole thing just turns me off! Having had a horrid, emergency c/s, that anybody would choose it for convenience and vanity, despite the risks to baby and mom shocks and offends me. Then naming the baby after herself (Jade is American form of Giada)–and don’t get me started on Millionaire Mommy going back to tv in about five seconds then flippantly commenting on how she “won’t be around that much.” Makes me gag!
