Poor Amanda Bynes.
When she signed up for the coveted role of Penny Pingleton in Hairspray, the 21-year-old starlet thought it would be the platform that would launch her big screen career. The reality? Not so much.
A Hollywood “insider” tells FYB that Amanda is literally “unhireable.” Why, you ask? Simply put, the leggy 5′10″ actress is no longer young enough for the teen market and she’s not yet quite old enough for an adult role. Calling Lindsay Lohan!
So, what has Miss Bynes’ career been reduced to? Attending lame party after lame party in hopes of rubbing the right set of elbows. But based on the soiréees she’s recently attended, we’re doubting that’s likely to happen. This weekend, Amanda attended the Run, Fatboy, Run premiere, The Hills Season 3 premiere party, and worse yet, Perez Hillton’s lackluster 30th birthday bash.
Next stop? The Surreal Life if we have anything to say about it!

I just checked her IMBD profile and she has no gigs lined up 2008 and its almost summer time. I agree with FYB! I don’t think she has the Chops!!!!

I think she’s adorable. I loved her in that corny but cute sitcom where she was sisters with Jenny Garth. I hope she doesn’t become another Lindsay - nooooo!

awww that’s too bad. i think she’s talented - at least in some of the cute, comedic role I’ve seen.
i can’t believe she’s not getting work. i think she’s very cute but to get more juicy roles, she should probably change her image. pretty, long-haired blond is a dime a dozen in hollywood.

I agree with everyone, she is great and WILL make it. She has enough money now to sit back and choose the RIGHT roles rather than jumping at anything the way loser lindsey does…

I don’t think It was meant to be funny its a fact you don’t need actual talent to be famous in hollywood and its sad amanda bynes is way more talented than kim kardashian and paris hilton.

I don’t mind her so much and I think she’s a good looking girl. It sucks for her though that she still looks like she could pass for 16. Nickelodeon was great for her but she’s too old for that now and unfortunately she just doesn’t have the right look for romantic comedies just yet. Maybe in a couple years….

I DOUBT THAT YOUR “HOLLYWOOD INSIDER” WOULD BET $$ THAT AMANDA BYNES REMAINS UNHIREABLE FOR VERY LONG.

I love her in Sydney White, one of my favorite movies. What does this all matter? I mean, if she’s ‘too young’ at the moment, she will get a job later. And to be honest, it’s bullshit cause there are plenty of films which contain 18 year olds ?

Anyway, what does it say about Hollywood when someone as talented and likeable as Amanda Bynes is considered ‘unhireable’, while Lohan and Spears are getting so much buzz for basically being uncontrolled bee-otches. Well, folks, if you want someone like Amanda instead of all the hohos they keep throwing at us, vote with your feet and your pocketbooks next time an Amanda star vehicle comes around. Hopefully it will be soon, as there are no comedic actresses in her age category and talent class. If we don’t support her, we’re gonna get stuck with ‘Good Luck Chuck 5′, ‘Mr Woodcock Goes to Washington’, and other related garbage…
