BRAD AND ANGIE HAVE BIG HEARTS

brangelina-charity-act.jpg

It appears that Jolie-Pitts acts of charity know no boundaries as Brad and Angelina have forked over more than $8 million to their charitable foundation in 2006.

Fox News reports that Brad shelled out $4.4 mil while Angie donated $4.1 mil to the Jolie Pitt Foundation in 2006.

So, what did their foundation do with all that cash? They dished out over $2.4 mil to various charities, including a mil a piece to Doctors Without Borders and to Global AIDS Alliance.

And for the cherry on top, Brangelina reportedly gave $137K to the Namibia Red Cross. Why? They felt bad for the media hysteria that surrounded them during the time of Shiloh’s birth.

Laughing at people realizing they give privately a lot and Fox went in digging for dirt only to come back with egg on their face.

Yeah, I am glad that Fox had to publish that Brad and Angelina are the real thing and actually do give away their money to charity. But why investigate these two? Why not dig up the dirt on the politicians who use taxpayers’ money for their shenanigans?

    Re:Melissa
Roger Friedman from Fox hates them especially Brad, he’s already accused them of not giving money they promised to Namibia then he found out they did and back off. So he probably went digging to find some dirt and he came away with egg on his face.

WHY NOT TELL THE PUBLIC WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DID WITH THE MONEY… YOU ONLY USE
PART OF IT..WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REST OF IT ? JUST LIKE GEORGE CLOONEY HE MADE
NINE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS AND ONLY USED HALF OF IT.. SO WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO GET THE HOUSES BUILT IN NEW OLEANS.. START ONE JOB AND GO TO THE NEXT

WAITING FOR THE FINISHED PROJECTS TO HAPPEN.. CLINTON GROUND DIGGING .. WHAT NEXT FOR BRAD.. GIVE UP AND START SOMETHING ELSE.. WHY WASTE TIME IF YOU DO NOT
    FINISH WHAT YOU START

If you give to your own foundation, is it really charity? Do they draw salaries from their foundations like most people do? Have any of y’all been to New Orleans lately? Trust me, not much has changed in the last year.

If I was doing this for people like you I would have given up a long time ago. Fortunately they are not me and they aren’t out to please you. I’ve seen comments from local media and citizens that their efforts are much felt and much appreciated.

NOYFB, I live in Biloxi and I know about hurricanes beginning with Camille in 1969. Storm damage is the price we pay for living here on the gulf coast. But no sitting Administration screwed the pooch the way the Bush one did after Katrina. The problem with what Brad et al are doing is that they seem to focus the attention on themselves and not the real problem. The photogs that follow him around want juicy pics of him and the family, they don’t give a rats ass about the problems of New Orleans or any place else for that matter. Crime rates are rising in NO at a horrific rate. I cannot imagine the city ever returning to its former glory. I sure as hell know that Biloxi won’t ever be the same. They are being taken over by casinos, but that is another bitch session!

CarrieAnne - Brad and Angie aren’t focusing the attention on themselves, that fault lies with the media. They’re simply trying to do something good; to give back in some small way. That’s all. It’s the media that has chosen to focus the attention on them. If they were a couple of unknowns, there would be no spotlight at all. But because they are celebrities, the media tends to focus on their celebrity status. Unfortunately, that’s the nature of our celebrity-obsessed culture, and something the Jolie-Pitts have no control over. All they can do is try and make a difference and hope that people get the message.

You might live in Biloxi but all you offer here is an opinion about their motives. Might as well live in Juno Alaska if that’s all you got.

Serious question here: if Brangelina gave $8 million to the foundation, and presumably others have given money as well, why has only $2.4 million been given OUT by the foundation?

    Serious do-gooders, my ass.

Me - Giving $8 million to a foundation doesn’t mean that $8 million in cash was collected in that year. When people pledge millions of dollars to a foundation, their pledge us usually spread out over several years. In other words, they may have received $8 million in pledged contributions in the last year, but not in liquid assets (i.e. cash). This would explain why only $2.4 million has actually been distributed to their charities. Mostly all foundations operate in this manner.
