JESSICA CLEARLY HAS COMMITMENT ISSUES

Jessica Simpson is receiving mad criticisms for allegedly snubbing a charity she has worked with for ten years. The publicity-loving actress has been a long-term supporter of Operation Smile, which helps children around the world born with facial disfigurements, and has campaigned tirelessly for them. She even went on a photog-filled trip to Africa last year to highlight the organization.

Now sources at the charity claim she has done nothing since that trip and were furious when she missed a New York benefit night earlier this week. An insider told Page Six: “She’s turned her back on them. She got a lot of good publicity from the charity but refused to let pictures of her be in the commemorative book and hasn’t done anything with them in a year.”

Meanwhile, reps for Jessica say she missed the event because she was in Germany, where she was honoured at the UNESCO Gala to Benefit Children in Need.

Besides, Operation Smile is so last year. Doing charity for kids with facial disfigurements is like being caught wearing a pair of Uggs. Can you even blame her?

I think the charity should be grateful that she supported them at all! There are a lot of charities out there and before Jess was spokesperson for Operation Smile, I’m sure a lot of people had never even heard of it. Sometimes charities do seem to get a bit clingy, I’ve supported a couple of charities for a few years and whenever you pull out of them or something they get kinda shitty and keep contacting you regardless.

though I agree with you somewhat Stephi, I still think Jessica should take whatever positive exposure she can get, since her career is finished.

Well maybe they should just thank her for the 10 years of support she has already given them, as a charity they should be grateful to her. It may even be charities like that which would make other people stay away from committing to a cause, to avoid negative press if something like this happens, which hurts the charity in the long run.
