The promotional snap was taken by photographer extradonaire Steven Klein, the styling was done by Gina Brooke and the art direction was seemingly done by a 5-year-old child.

My thought is that once upon a time, a woman posing with her legs spread would have been an evocative, titillating image… regardless of age. Living in the day and age that we are however, this is an uninteresting as you can get.
I absolutely agree with pillbox….Madonna has been posing like this for um, 20 years. It would have been more shocking (and refreshing) if her cover was maybe outside in natural light with her looking less like a cartoon character and more like a real woman.

the concept is making cheap/homemade/lowquality/DYI-looking things be cool. And we know Madonna can do this. Think about last year, the Confession Tour was 80’s inspired with all that cheesy stuff like mirrorballs, lycra and sequins. And those tacky things bacame THE NEW COOL, she started a trend which still stands today (e.g. 99% of people is wearing colorful rayban wayfarers)

Given the title of the album and her pose, I think the “cheesy” effect is intentional. As if she’s poking fun of herself and the image she’s crafted over the past few decades.
Madonna looks hot but I hate how her legs are spread, it just looks really tacky and wrong for a woman of her age to be in that pose no matter how good her body is. The cheesy kind of candy effect, even though it is intentional, isn’t great either…that font just looks like its been done on a budget. I hope they make a couple of changes. ok, i have been a huge fan for 10 years now. i own every album and just about every single. i must say this isn’t my favorite cover. I do think that it could be better, but the MUSIC is what really matters. When you hear the music you may even change your mind of how you feel of the cover.
