Celebs are in a huff over New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s prostitution scandal.
Amongst the loudest disapproving stars is Julianne Moore, who has a lot to say. “I’m really pissed,” she tells People. “I honestly don’t care where or how people have sex, or with whom, but prostitution is illegal. For someone whose got such a reputation for having a real attitude towards crime, you have to walk the walk. I’m sorry.”

Meanwhile, New York Lt. Gov. David Paterson has told New York officials that Spitzer will resign as governor today. The resignation letter, which was drafted yesterday, is expected to be submitted to the New York secretary of state this morning.

Rudy Giuliani had a long term extramarital affair, setting up his “girlfriend” in an apt., gifts, etc. The only difference is there wasn’t a cash payment each time (or maybe there was!) So Spitzer has to resign and Giuliani was up for PRESIDENT. It’s all semantics, people.

Maybe I’m not getting the full picture because I live in Europe… but why do you care so much about a politician’s private life, let alone his sex life. I really don’t see the big deal. If it would happen here (Belgium is where I live)… of course there would be a media storm, but he would never have to resign because of it. I agree with both Fortress and IllegalsForSpitzer. I’d rather have the men in power cheating and sleeping around (sorry, but i’m not his wife!!!) than have us in a pointless war that is killing thousands of people and spending billions doing it, and having our country in the worst economy its had in decades!
