Words of encouragement and well-wishes are flooding in for Patrick Swayze who is battling pancreatic cancer.
First, Lea Thompson tells Us Weekly: “I’ve known him for so long, he’s a great guy, and I love him so much.†The two co-starred in the 1984 action movie Red Dawn.“He was such a great dancer,†she added. “He will be resilient — us dancers are tough!â€
Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg, who co-starred with Swazye in Ghost, mentioned it on The View this morning, calling him “a man I adore” and “my friend.” She hasn’t had a chance to talk him, but said, “Baby, as always … we want you to know, we want you to feel better. We’ll talk soon, I hope.”
Even the president of the Official Patrick Swayze International Fan Club said today that her members were “very distressed” by the news, but have sent “messages of support” to Patrick and wife Lisa Niemi.

Patrick was on Oprah this season and you know, he’s still got it! He’s still handsome and charismatic as ever… age hasn’t really touched him.
I’m suprised how worried I am about his illness. He just comes across as someone who has a sense of humour about himself and he is so long married to the same woman, that makes him likeable.
Pancreatic cancer has one of the worst survival rates of all types of cancer. I have nothing but good wishes for him.
Who cares! People die every damn day! ooooooh, and Miss Janet is worried about him, someone she doesn’t even know and someone that could care less about her! Miss Janet sounds like a retard.
Get over it, he’ll die and everything will continue and no one will care.
Some of these comments are just stupid. The man has got a serious disease. Not something to be joked around about. His family and friends are probably very upset by this news and would no doubt be devastated if something happened to him. Making comments like some of the ones on here are just ignorant and immature. Get over yourself and think about how you would feel if you one day came down with this terrible illness and had nobody to support you. The rate some of you are going you won’t.
