Rita Marley’s 2004 autobiography, No Woman No Cry: My Life With Bob Marley, is finally being turned into a movie by The Weinstein Co., and the widow of the reggae legend will be executive producer.
Says Mrs. Marley in a press release: “I’ve waited a long time to tell this story, about growing up in Jamaica and meeting Bob and making our music and falling in love and making our family. All that, and all that we went through, went into this. Now is that time. This is my story.”

Now the question is, who should play the role of Bob Marley?
Nick Canon? Terrence Howard? T.I.? Mos Def? Willl Smith? Or should they pluck an up-and-comer from obscurity?

This will be a great movie but it has to be done properly. I agree with normal that it really should be someone with a Jamaican accent otherwise it will just sound too put on and comedic even. I’ve read a couple books about Bob Marley’s life and it would certainly make a great film. What about Ziggy Marley? Who better to play Bob than his own son?! He hasn’t had any real acting experience but he did the voice of the jellyfish in Shark Tale haha
they will be better off going with an unknown. sometimes legends like bob marley can’t be done by already established actors.
I would figure that one of Bob’s many sons would play him in the movie. Stephen is the one who most resembles him, I think. If they pick an American actor to play him, they better come correct, or fyah bun dem!

^^^^What? Bob marley died of cancer, not drugs. He was never a heavy drug user except for weed. Anyway, I think Hollywood needs to leave the biopics alone, its a little played out.
