Hayden on her split from Stephen: “I just knew I wanted to breathe. I wanted to be single at the time. It just hit me like a ton of bricks: This is the time I need to be with myself. It takes such a secure person to be with someone like me—it takes so much confidence; it takes so much trust.â€Hayden on what she looks for in a guy: “I have to be with someone who’s driven. When they’re not, it becomes difficult. In a lot of relationships, you get in and you spend every waking moment with that person. But I’ve figured out that the healthiest relationship is where you each have your own life, but they meet in a nice point in the middle.â€
Hayden on friends she depends on: “Hilary [Duff] is one of the closer people to me in the business. She’s a very down-to-earth person. She’s humble, very sweet — she’s low-key.â€
Hayden on a warrant that was out for her arrest in Japan after she interfered in a dolphin hunt last year: “There’s very little that scares me,. I’ve always been a physical person. And I feel like a lot of time in this industry, a lot of people loan their face to a cause, which is great, but it doesn’t do as much as getting out there and actually physically doing something.â€
Hayden on being outspoken: “I don’t need to prove myself to anyone. I’m not that kind of person. I know myself much better now than I did [before]. And my opinions of things and my morals – I am not as easily swayed as I used to be. And when you learn to accept yourself, the more you learn to be okay with yourself and know yourself, the easier it is to love somebody and allow them to love you.â€

She’s a very confident young lady isn’t she? Almost a little arrogant in her confidence at times, especially in this interview. It could just be the way I’m reading it though. I think its great that she’s figured out that you can be around your boyfriend TOO much…that’s something I didn’t figure out until much later. She sounds like she has a pretty good head on her shoulders.
If you date a celeb you better be secure and confident cuz of all the time you will spend apart and all rumors the media will make about you and your relationship.
