The news of his operational posting leaked out following the breakdown of a news blackout agreement with the media.
The 23-year-old prince is several weeks into a four-month tour of duty in Afghanistan, where he has been living and working in a heavily-fortified army base in Helmand province.
What a hero!!

Its stupid the army doesn’t have time to baby sit this MARK
*sarcastic* yeah i’m really sure he’s in any real fucking danger
But now that it has leaked out he will have to leave or he will be killed!
he’s no more of a hero than the other tens of thousands of service men who are risking their lives for their country — give us a damn break.
Amen, supernova.
the media hates the military and western countries so much they would put our soldiers and the brits in danger, yes media like the new york times (traitors), the BBC and their ilk.
Obviously the News and Entertainment Media are doing their best to put Barack HUSSEIN Obama in power they longer even care they’ve lost credibility.
maybe they’ll be happy when we all live under SHARIA law.
To all these loons obsessed with global warming, radical muslims will get us before any polar bear goes extinct.
good!
mad as hell : educate yourself before you speak.
.
supernova : you’re on the money!
Obviously this was all a ploy, bho. Nobody is trying to get anyone in danger, Harry is just trying to get out of duty. By leaking it to the media, he has to leave because his life is in danger (Or so the conspiracy theories will say) and he is free to walk and enjoy his youth without being weighed down by such silly things as army training. It’s pretty obvious actually! I still think he is the hotness, even though he is a pussyboy for not standing the distance!!
I wish my boy was in Afghanistan instead of Iraq……………..Luck shithead.
supernova,
you’re wrong once again…here’s why. while i agree that everyone who serves is a hero, it’s commonplace to rip on elites and children of politicians (see rich people) for not sharing the sacrifice while making policy. here we see someone that has it made and still insists on serving proudly.
how many times have we heard idiots spew on about bush’s daughters going to iraq?
I think its awesome Harry even went in the first place because everyone knows he didnt have too. He looks really sexy in that photo by the way. But I still give him credit because no one has see William go to a warn torn country to serve. I truly belive that Harry does not think hes better than his fellow service men and did not want a free pass out of war why his friends had to go and thats why hes there. I agree Harry is no more of a hero than any other service men BUT I do give him credit for going when he could have stayed home enjoying the riches of roality life while his friends served.
his location could not be disclosed for fear of being targeted and putting others at risk.
EVERY soldier over there fighting this pointless war of bush’s is a hero. too bad bush feels otherwise (disagree? look at the way these men and women are treated once they return from battle.)
^ nobody wants to hear your liberal babble. how many times are you going to repeat yourself?
Does his hat say “Wales” for his last name?? I love a man in uniform!
Adam, your type of reasoning is absolutely dangerous. Just because he is a child of the royal family who happens to be going to war, that doesn’t make him a hero. The title of being a “hero” has to be earned (like if you place your life in danger to actually save someone else’s). He should NOT be called a hero or considered to be better than the men and women he is serving with — imagine how they would feel working next to him in the field if he was considered a hero for doing the same fucking job they’re doing. Nobody calls them heros. You ask any one of them and they will tell you “I’m doing my job for my country” - end of story. It’s people like you who give out titles like “hero” as if you were handing out candy that devalues the very meaning of the word.
fair enough supernova. ‘hero’ and ‘tragedy’ are used all to often and i agree , although ‘absolutely dangerous’ is a bit harsh i’d say…may you never utter the charge of chickenhawk, or question the occupations of senator’s or president’s or rich white people’s children ever again.
I think its great that he got the opportunity to serve in the front line, it will really put it all into perspective for him and give him real life experience that a lot of the royals could do with. I’m surprised the press didn’t find out sooner to be quite honest, its a shame that he couldn’t finish his whole time there. I wonder just how much he actually did though? Surely it would be way too dangerous for him…for a royal to be put out there like that. It’s a big risk though, he would be the perfect hostage.
well now he’s coming home because drudge broke the story and NOW he is in danger…which means he was fighting like normal soldiers
An Australian women’s magazine broke the story. Drudge picked it up a day later. The worldwide news organizations knew he was there and has been observing a voluntary press blackout for the past 10 weeks, not only for Harry’s safety but also for the safety of his unit. Living in the U.S. where politicians brag about avoiding military service, I’m surprised to see so many people trashing Harry for wanting to serve his country.
