NORAH JONES: “IT” GIRL AT CANNES

Grammy princess Norah Jones will cut the ribbon at the opening of the American Pavillion in Cannes on Friday. But don’t worry — Wong Kar-Wai, her ‘My Blueberry Night’ director, will be there to help. The music diva’s first film premieres tonight at the fest and from what I’ve heard, she’s not half bad in it. According to film critic Emanuel Levy:

‘And to the burning question: Can Norah Jones act? Absolutely. Endowed with a strong, charismatic presence, Jones is photogenic, and Wong, having worked with some of the most beautiful actresses in world cinema today (Maggie Cheung, Gong Li, among them) gives her the full-star treatment, with close-ups and mega close-ups. With additional acting experience, Jones could develop into an A-list dramatic actress.’

    boring? are you crazy? Yeah, her songs are slow and soft and mellow, but FAR from boring.

    She’s talented and very humble- saw her on an interview and she’s very humble and doesn’t show off… I like her cause she keeps it to herself

    Cute girl, lovely dress, ugly shoes.
    She sings soft and slow songs, so what…not everyone wants to be “fergalicious” :)

    Starr- i cant really pick it out, maybe its just the first pic where she looks cross-eyed or something, but i do love that she looks so natural.

    I think the world of her. I love her music; her voice instantly relaxes and soothes me. I think she looks very pretty here.
