In the new issue of T magazine, Sleepwalking star Charlize Theron gets candid about everything from her weight and aging to the paparazzi all while dishing out a few wise words of advice.
Charlize on not losing weight for modeling: “I had the capability to be a bigger model than I was. They were always telling me, ‘Lose five pounds and you’ll be a supermodel.’ But I saw modeling like waitressing — it was a way to pay for another career, and that career was dance.â€Charlize on aging: “When you’re young, there’s nothing but excitement. The older you get, the more fearful you become. When you’re young, you don’t think in terms of danger.â€
Charlize on fame: “I don’t like the tactics of the paparazzi, but in some ways, I almost prefer their unflattering shots to the glossy images in magazines. I like to see the human underneath.â€
Charlize on gaining weight for her role as Aileen Wuornos in Monster: “It’s naive and a little sweet that people think a weight gain constitutes acting. In the case of Aileen Wuornos, there were reasons for her size: She’d led a homeless life, and if you sleep under a bridge, you don’t go to the gym. Your body looks a certain way.â€

She is very intelligent and bright.
Those are great shots!
She was fabulous in “Monster”.
in a whole other league than most of the skanks shown here
wow, a real actress in comparison to what we usually see in blogs. she’s also so beautiful.
she is pretty
Wow I don’t know too many actresses who actually LIKE those unflattering pictures of themselves in magazines. I know I wouldn’t! I can see where she’s coming from though about it making seemingly perfect people look more human but some are just embarassing!
she so beautiful, on the inside as well as the outside it would seem.
one of the most beautiful actresses today, although i perfer her with short hair.
She’s so right about aging. Love her comments.
Charlize is so level headed. A fine example of a good quality woman and actress. Agree about the excessive photoshopping - pap photos show us what the folks really look like, and that’s doing a service, given the body image issues that abound amongst (especially) young girls.
she looks like nicole kidman in that picture!
