According to Awards Daily, George Clooney predicts that the winners for the 80th annual Academy Awards will be: No Country for Old Men (Best Picture), Juno (Best Screenplay), There Will Be Blood (Best Cinematography), The Coen brothers (Best Director), Daniel Day-Lewis (Best Actor), Julie Christie (Best Actress) and Javier Bardem (Best Supporting Actor).
From the NYC Film Critic to the Boston Herald, most publications are in accordance with gorgeous George’s predictions with the exception of who deserves the trophy for Best Supporting Actress. George says Amy Ryan from Gone, Baby, Gone will go home with the prize. Others believe it’s Cate Blanchett who deserves Oscar gold for her stunning portrayal of Bob Dylan in I’m Not There.

Why all the hate for George!? I think he’s pretty dead on with his predictions to be honest. A lot of the films that are chosen for Academy Awards are sometimes overrated I think. I think Little Miss Sunshine was a cute movie but not THAT great…nothing too amazing. And how the hell Alan Arkin won for his role is beyond me! For starters he was dead for most of the movie and when he was acting all he was really doing was swearing.
Better luck next year George, because DD Lewis is going to take the best actor oscar home.
