Paula Abdul’s new music video was supposed to have its world premiere tonight on Fox, but Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow has already shown up on the Web.

In a press conference early this morning, the American Idol judge dished on her latest career development and a whole lot more!

Paula on her comeback : “It’s good to be back in the game. It’s a very poignant and special time. It’s been awhile since I’ve been out there doing it.”

Paula on why she was out of the game for over a decade: “I’ve been through 14 surgeries and that kept me out of the loop for some time. I was pretty much told I would never dance again.”

Paula on performing again: “That’s my happy place. I didn’t realize how much I missed physically being out there and doing that.”

Paula on having Simon Cowell appear in the video: “He said, ‘I don’t do this for my own artists.’ And I said, ‘They probably don’t want you in their videos.’”

Paula on touring: “I’ve definitely been taking meetings. I’m very particular, though, about how I want to approach touring. I have a real focused idea. I want it to be something different. It’ll be a whole different trend of touring.”

Paula on who will win American Idol this year: “I have no idea. This is the first time that none of us can say definitely going to be this person…. There are definitely standouts. You can’t deny David Archuleta, Jason Castro and Michael Johns and Alaina and Sayesha and Ramiele and Carly… I could go on and on. It’s, for me, it’s like ‘Oh my god, who’s going to go home?’ You’ve got contenders of both genders. Oh god, that just rhymed.”

Meanwhile, lots of nice comments posted at People about Paula’s new video….believe it or not.

She looks really good for her age and she still has the moves but this is just sad. I am SICK to death of people singing about being in the club, dancing, dj’s, music, ect……. Also, what is the point of having all the people from American Idol standing there at the end of the video with the wind blowing on them? It seems very out of place for the video.

^^ whats wrong with people writting songs about “the club, dancing, dj’s, music, ect…”?? What do you want songs to be about?

  8. dana Says:

I agree Anonymous — I’d rather have them singin’ about DJs than BJs!!!! ;-)

Paula, you are the best female pop star of all time (nobody even comes close imo, Madonna is a much worse dancer) and I hope you continue with this singing project!! oh and if she does premiere her video on Idol tonight, it will quickly become one of the most seen music videos ever, I guess. at least, it is pretty unusual that 30 million or something all see one music video at the same time.. since MTV doesnt get that many viewers. and i loved her video a lot.
