THE STARS STEP OUT FOR ‘PENELOPE’

Costars James McAvoy, Reese Witherspoon and Christina Ricci are all smiles at the premiere of Penelope presented by Self magazine at the Director’s Guild of America Headquarters in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Reese, who also took on the role as first-time producer, told reporters that she is sorry she ever complained about her long hours on a movie set double-tasking. In fact, she now appreciates how tough the rest of the crew have it.
Says the 31-year-old Oscar winner: “The actor thing is easy. I used to grumble about long days, the producer’s days are even longer. You have to get the money, you have to ask people to do favours for you. It’s horrible. When it comes together it’s really exciting.”
Wish the same could be said about the flick. It’s about an aristocrat cursed by a witch to have a pig snout until “one of her own” learns to loves her.
Umm…yeah…

Christina Ricci is going too far with the transformation.

What a stupid thing to say. What makes him any more real than say Brad Pitt or any of the muscular types you seem to favour? In fact he’s more real than that lot, he looks normal, natural but he’s still charming and there’s certainly something about him. I’ve likes him ever since he was in Shameless (UK tv show). Not everyone likes the same type of man!

Is this the movie that was about someone with a hair lip or cleft palette or something? I didn’t think it was a snout…maybe I’m thinking of another movie. I dunno sounds kind of strange though…

thta movie looks boring. I do not like Christina Ricci…actually she makes me cringe; not her her carachter as much as her “real self”….does not me me feel at ease.

Did Ricci get a boob reduction?? I thought I remember her having really big boobs??

I’ve actually gotten a chance to see the movie. It’s very cute and charming. It’s not that boring. And it’s definitely a pig’s snout.

my point is that hollywood prefers sexually ambiguous types of men and this is a trend with a purpose
February 21st, 2008 at 8:14 am
he only appeals to 12 year old girls u must be one
February 21st, 2008 at 8:15 am
is this a movie for kids?
February 21st, 2008 at 8:25 am
I love Christina, I think she’s a good actress! So I will definately see this.
February 21st, 2008 at 10:12 am
And my point was that there’s nothing effeminate or sexually ambiguous about him. A man doesn’t have to be very muscly or have a massive jaw (typical American look) to be manly. But I know in America you prefer the Ken doll look as the epitome of manliness.

And about me being 12, well, I wish. But judging by your comments I think you must be the child here not me.
February 21st, 2008 at 11:23 am
I didn’t recognize Christina at first
February 21st, 2008 at 12:17 pm
the ken doll was the mold for actors today
February 21st, 2008 at 12:17 pm
u just proved my point
February 21st, 2008 at 12:19 pm
pls brad pitt is another example
February 21st, 2008 at 12:21 pm
example of pretty no depth of character no manliness

Love me some James Mcavoy! Loved him in ‘Last King Of Scotland’. He’s one of the greatest actors of this era.
