Following an exhuastive weekend promoting her new flick 27 Dresses (or 27 Robes as it’s otherwise known), TV star-turned-big screen leading lady Katherine Heigl enjoys an afternoon of shopping with her mother in glorious Paris on Monday.
Does the ever-present paparazzi make you feel sorta sorry for the Grey’s Anatomy beauty as she tries to enjoy a mother-daughter day off? Save your pity.
Katherine says she feels sorry for the scores of paparazzi who spend hours following her around — because her life is boring.
In a new interview, Dr. Izzie claims she was shocked at the number of snappers waiting outside her house the day after her Emmy success in November last year — when she won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. But she doesn’t mind the intrusion - because it is all part of being a successful Hollywood actress.
Says the camera-friendly starlet: “The paparazzi are a whole new deal to me. It started slowly, I’d see one or two every once in a while and then one day after the Emmys there were 20. I was like ‘Arrrrgh!’ I feel guilty, though, because I never do anything interesting and they’ve waited outside my house all day. I often complain about people moaning about the paparazzi because if you want the money you make and the big movie roles, then it’s the price you have to pay.”

Well at least she doesn’t bitch about the paparazzi. Most of the Grey’s Anatomy main cast have been surprisingly grounded and real about their roles in Hollywood and their jobs. Heigl still irritates me for some reason but I respect her.
SHAME to T.R. Knight though. BLANKED!

I think majority of the GA cast is grounded minus Patrick Dempsey. Sorry that man just bugs me. I can’t believe you guys didn’t mention T.R. Knight being there with Heigl. I love how these two are hang out with their co-workers all the time.

She looks really classy. And good quote about the paparazzi…I’m sure they’re annoying but yes it’s the price you have to pay for fame and fortune and a movie career.

She is very right about the paparazzi attention. It is a price you have to pay if you want to be famous. There is however a line that the paprazzi have been crossing recently I think. Britney is the perfect example. It’s just over the top attention that she gets from them and its absolutely relentless. There are also the photos that are taken that are just an invasion of privacy and the photos of dead Anna Nicole and dead Heath Ledger. This is too far and Britney is certainly an exception. But most celebs don’t get followed 24/7 like her.
