Being a D-list, red carpet-hopping faux celeb has clearly paid off for Lauren Conrad.

The untalented pseudo designer has reportedly forked over a whopping $2.36 million for a renovated Spanish-style house on Los Angeles’ Sunset Strip. Lauren made the big purchase last month.

Features of the 1922 house include a courtyard entry, three bedrooms, two and a half baths, a den, refinished hardwood floors, a custom kitchen with high-end stainless steel appliances and Carrera marble. There’s also a detached guest house, pool and outdoor fireplace.

Our thoughts on Lauren’s not-so-humble abode?

Very nice! The pool is a wee bit small, but other than that, I like it.

You mean they ACTUALLY pay her???? ;-)

This talentless nobody doesn’t deserve this. She deserves a one-way ticket to Retiredfamewhoreland.

i will NEVER have a house like this but then again i’m not some untalented, overpaid “reality star”. then again, her dad is a PAID architect so i’m sure he put in some money for this

No way she can afford this shit.

I drive by that street on my way home everyday. It’s the first street east of Fairfax, north of Hollywood. The houses are very nice but I can’t believe the prices have gone that high. Four streets east is where that serial killer killed those two men awhile back.

As for Lauren being overpaid, the girl may not have a lot of talent, but she does inspire a lot of trends so more power to her. Also, I think her parents have mucho bucks and MTV may have kicked in some $$ probably so they can shoot scenes in the house. Just my hunch.

$2.36 mil would get you an empty whole in the wall facing a brick wall, in NYC.

I love it! I mean it seems a little big for someone who will be living alone but hey. Do your things girl!

  9. hmmm Says:

    Wow I’m a bit jealous.

Wow I love everything about that house! It’s classy but quaint… not too big and not too over the top with the decorating…. Very very nice. I would totally live there.

Wow Chicken Little…I live in Calif. and the prices out here for houses is RIDICULOUS! I had heard NY was just as high as here, but had no idea it was worse.

Cute house. Good for her. Also good time to buy, rates are down and home prices are droooooopping

  13. Divina Says:

    I love the bathroom!!

  14. Chicken Little Says:

Yeah… If you want an actual HOUSE for 2.3mil in NY, it will be far away from the city, and most certainly not furnished. You will not have a pool either. Did I mention that you would need to renovate it also?

Suck on that Spencer and skank Heidi! This is just going to give him more reason to burn with rage and jealousy. Pray for him Heidi, get your bible out and pray hard.

Yeah I have lived in both LA and New York and I agree with you Chicken Little…you better just forget a house hahah. Apartments are expensive enough! I lived in a one bedroom on the upper west side and was paying $3,500 per month!! It was just insane!! I eventually moved into a larger apartment in Soho with my brother until I could afford my house here in LA. It’s worked out a lot better for me, but its still insane prices. I’d rather pay one big amount for a house though than be paying thousands a month for something that isn’t even mine.
I really like Lauren’s house. The kitchen is beautiful and really that size pool is all you need. I guess she’s just been lucky that she’s been able to afford this, although she came from a pretty wealthy family right? And she’s working for Teen Vogue as an intern so at least she has a job and isn’t just earning money off the Hills.

…and she is also going to be forking over a shit-ton of money for a hoard of people to come tend to the pool, lawn, cleaning, etc.

  18. lena Says:

Go lauren its a beautiful house good for her!

  19. Sarah Says:

    Good for her :D

I’m sure Ms. Lauren Conrad had a role to play for selling a couple million seasons of the Hills and Laguna Beach on DVD and ITunes which in turn probably guaranteed her a healthy contract, as well as the advertisement for the LG Shine/ATT. Not to mention photoshoots for Maxim, Teen Vogue, YM, Shape, Seventeen, etc. And don’t forget her own make-up line with Avon, her online fashion line dubbed the Lauren Conrad Collection, and I’m sure she isn’t a just an intern at Teen Vogue anymore, too. Don’t be jealous just because the girl sells. And in a wholesome Marcia Brady sorta way, too. I love her!

Well maybe I have been reading Florida Architecture and other high-end real estate magazines for too long, but by estate standards her place is really modest. Her pool looks like maybe it is a lap pool judging from it’s seemingly small size. There is nothing wrong with her milking the Hollywood Cow while she can.
